Ok I expect to get mauled for this but I was surprised to see LT in the line up of past ONe at the Senotaph this morning. Considering the mess she made I would think she would keep a low profile for a while.

All political careers end in failure but some are much bigger failures than others. Truss now holds the record in modern times. Blair chose to go. All the others were pushed out, one way or another, by the electorate or their own parties.

The Countess of Wessex was on the balcony with the Duke & Duchess of Gloucester. Duke of Kent & Princess Anne’s husband we’re also on the balcony.

Thanks for that, I meant the balcony with Camilla and Catherine on.

The others were on different balconies. I saw Tim Lawrence and the Duke of Kent, but not the one with Sophie and the Gloucesters.

I think a point was being made that Camilla and Catherine are now very noticeably the two most senior of the royal ladies.

I liked that a wreath was laid on behalf of the Queen Consort.

Yes I liked that too.

Re Camilla's wreath, I wondered why she wasn't allowed to lay it herself? She's a feisty lady, I'm sure she would have managed.

Perhaps they're waiting till after the Coronation before she does these sort of events in her own right or perhaps she felt that Charles needed to be on his own so to speak, the first time. I don't know and am only guessing.

I think LT and BJ were unmitigated disasters as PMs but, as someone else has said, where do you draw the line? It wasn’t about who was at the Cenotaph but rather about those who never got the opportunity to be anywhere, ever again, for our sake.
