Astonishing that he has announced this.
He has now put his wife, children and himself at serious risk not to mention all the other implications.

He is a silly immature and dangerous man.

I don't think the armed services get to decide what the Taliban say.

The Taliban said Mr Harry! The ones you killed were not chess pieces, they were humans; they had families who were waiting for their return. Among the killers of Afghans, not many have your decency to reveal their conscience and confess to their war crimes.

Not the Mirror.

You're just wrong, you've interpreted the post at 16:18 incorrectly.

I laughed. Loved Prince and the more I hear about Prince Harry’s musings the more ridiculous it all sounds. He’s making himself a laughing stock. Is there no self awareness?

There are several different translations/interpretations of the Talibans statement.

I guess we will have to wait and see what their response is

Yes there are. But for sure, the Daily Mirror didn't say it.

One of our news channels just announced that he has made himself a prime target because of his ‘killing’ statement. Not a good idea, almost as if they want it to happen.

Katie59 Sat 07-Jan-23 07:14:54

For someone who is concerned for his own security he is doing a pretty good job of increasing the threat, raise your head above the parapet, someone is going to take a shot at it, particularly in the US. Or maybe Meghan has arranged a kidnap scam so that his family can ransom him, the possibilities are endless.

Personally as soon as I read what he wrote , I thought how stupid & irresponsible he is ! Not intelligent at all, just caused a whole lot more problems for himself , & many more people . When I look at photos of him I automatically think , how sad he looks ... yet our King is still open for him to come to his Coronation ... as they say 2 wrongs don't make a right , a bigger person to forgive ... too many people air their dirty linen in public ... I wonder if he regrets or will ever regret what he has done, even if only part of it ... who knows ...

Could just help the military personnel who are facing court over past shootings. Harry, having admitted killing 25, might just have to answer in court.

Harry says the RF have to take accountability, so presumably whenever he next comes to the UK, he will be given the bigger bedroom grin

Why the need to view and count the deaths

I am not shocked by any forces personnel killing the enemy, that is what they are trained for.

I have had a quick look at your links volver and they highlight highly trained brave men reacting in exceptional circumstances, well done them.

I think we should all be grateful for our armed service personnel, as we will never know all that they do to keep the U.K. safe.

I am GG13.

But some seem to think its unusual for soldiers to kill people.

I think people are surprised / shocked at the need to comment on / boast about it. Bit indiscreet / unnecessary /unprofessional.

It’s the identity and profile of this particular soldier which cause the shock don’t you think, volver? And there’s no hint of outstanding courage, of having done something exceptional in the face of danger, simply of having kept a tally and having chosen to tell the world about it. He and his family would be far greater prizes for the Taliban than the others to whom you have posted links.

PH has been rather stupid and shortsighted, he has constantly made a point of his and his family’s security. He is currently in the process of bringing a case against the U.K. Government for not providing free of charge security for his family when they are in the U.K.

His loose talk has just put a target on his and his family’s back along with all the British Royals.

No doubt there is a Taliban Cell somewhere working on a plan as we and the worlds press continue to discuss and dissect the minutiae of his revelations

nanna8 Sat 07-Jan-23 10:03:15

It is not unusual to kill people but it is unusual to count them and write about them, especially if you are a high profile individual. I am searching for my pearls but it is so long since I wore them I fear I may have misplaced them. The tiara will have to suffice but one of the diamonds is missing.

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 07-Jan-23 10:03:51

I agree GG. We owe them a greater debt than we will ever know - much is done covertly and never publicised.

Yes I do GSM. I think its double standards.

One of the links is about a soldier who killed members of the Taliban and wrote about it in his book. He was a couple of miles away the time and used long range sights. (Sorry if that's not the correct terminology.)

Harry is a soldier who killed members of the Taliban and wrote about it in his book.

I fail to see the difference.

I don't think he should have spoken about it the way he did, but all this talk of "ohh, he killed people and do you think he'll get taken to court for it?" Its just beyond belief. But the Mail tells us how wonderful one of them was and how awful the other is.

Welcome back, by the way!

Ronnytigs Sat 07-Jan-23 10:26:36

To my mind Harry (and Meghan) are in that awful over-therapised state, where as damaged people, they become damaging themselves. Harry will come to regret all this as time passes, as it will always come back to haunt him, in the same way that his past is already. Wonder what his next book has in store for us all? I really do wonder what the people who actually compiled the book were thinking when they allowed this piece of information to be printed. Surely they realised the target Harry was putting on his, and his family's, backs?

Sparklefizz Sat 07-Jan-23 10:31:03

You seem to read the Mail all the time volver. You frequently quote them.
