The King has reportedly evicted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from Frogmore Cottage, their residence in Windsor. Buckingham Palace let the Duke and www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1740755/royal-family-meghan-markle-prince-harry-frogmore-cottage-king-charles of Susses know about the plan to take away the property from them just days after Harry's tell-all memoir, Spare, was published worldwide, it has been claimed.

Well, since I have posted maybe 3 times for or against them on GN, you are preaching to the choir.

My post was not so much about H & M as it was about the British people not letting go of the infatuation of negativity surrounding the couple.

FWIW, if they aren't going to use the house, then the lease should not be renewed. That is what happens to every other person on the face of the planet, they aren't special in that regard. I do not see why they would need it if they arent spending time in the UK anyhow.

But eviction never happened because there is no legal proceedings to be found.

JaneJudge Thu 02-Mar-23 18:35:17

I'm sure they'll all live

imaround Thu 02-Mar-23 18:37:05

@katie59 - Good for you! Now your $15 a month can not support them. I am sure Netflix looks at the risk of cancellations when taking on any projects. If they know that people wont pay for the content provided, they will no longer offer it.

Same with the tabloids.

'the infatuation of negativity.'

Oh dear.

It is rather cringe!

Anyone has the power to make them go away, by refusing to purchase or support the papers that print the crap you all need to read so much and closing down the internet when you see it.
I'm curious to know which paper you read today that must have reported that M & H went out to dinner last night? I haven't read that in my choice of newspaper and no one else has mentioned it here.

Smileless2012 Thu 02-Mar-23 19:46:40

That came up on my laptop earlier as a 'news headline' Joseanne goodness knows why. A very expensive private club with an annual membership of $4700 I think it was, they were either there as guests or are members.

Lots of references and pics of their happy smiling faces so perhaps not having their lease for Frogmore isn't bothering them at allhmm.

I am in the US. Because I read about the royal family (all of them, not just H & M), it came up in my algorithm today. So did Catherine and William. I absolutely love that suit Catherine had on for the meeting. I was just trying to find the designer of the suit. Not that I can afford it, nor would I look good in it, but I enjoy talking fashion so it stood out to me.

Meghan looked incredible at her dinner date last night as well by the way. AT first I thought they were dining with Eugenie since she was in LA recently. But I do not think that was her. It was hard to see who it was.

I also thought that Sarah Ferguson looked amazing in People this week, though I wish they had not used so much photoshop on her.

Not sure how you got that out of my post of them not being in public since January 11th though? Everyone wants them to go away and they literally have not been seen in public from January 11th to yesterday. I saw something about another Steven Colbert interview, but I didn't watch it so am not sure if it was a new one or more footage of the one from January.

Joseanne Thu 02-Mar-23 19:50:02

Not a very "private" outing then Smileless!!

Smileless2012 Thu 02-Mar-23 19:55:02

Well do H & M ever do anything privately Joseanne?grin.

imaround Thu 02-Mar-23 19:55:33

Smileless - I don't understand why they would want it to be honest. They do not live there. Maybe it was a mutual agreement?

It is all speculation anyhow. All we know is that they do not live in the UK, do not "need" Frogmore and Charles (maybe them mutually?) has not renewed the lease for whatever reason. A mere blip in the lives of people who we do not know.

Smileless2012 Thu 02-Mar-23 19:59:50

Perhaps someone should tell Omid Scobie imaround. He's the one whose expressed their shock and outrage oh and two other members of the RF apparently.

Yes I noticed she was wearing beige which she wears a lot and it suits her.

I remember her saying that beige was the colour she wore all the time when in the UK to comply with royal protocol - not wearing the same colour as a senior Royal.

Apparently she picked it because it’s a colour the others would never wear.

🤔

imaround Thu 02-Mar-23 20:09:59

Omid Scobie is selling papers and books. Same as anyone who has written books about the Royal Family.

I see it all through the same lens, we have no idea the truth behind any of it and there are more people than H & M making money off their image. And the Queen Elizabeth's image. And Charles' image. And so on.

Everyone who talks about H & M, from palace sources on down, have 1 goal. Make money off of the back of the Royal Family. Do I blame them? No. But I see it for what it is. I do not pretend that any of them are telling the truth, just their version of it. As with everything in life, nothing is ever what it appears.

imaround Thu 02-Mar-23 20:13:48

I have no idea if other members of the royal family would never wear beige. I cant remember ever seeing it, but since I love color, other clothing would have stood out more for me. Like Catherine's suit. But Meghan picked those colors to not stand out because of a lack of confidence in her role. She stated that she tried to avoid color so the papers would not target her for wearing color and "overshadowing" the royal family.

Her choice, but IMO she looks good in bright jewel tones. More so then beige IMO.

I thought that was a load of tosh and another ‘poor me’ story.

She wore beige because she knows she looks good in it.

imaround Thu 02-Mar-23 20:34:27

Maybe? She wore a lot of black and navy too.

I remember seeing her back then and thinking wow why is she not wearing color and wondeedr if it could be a lack of confidence but again we'll never know.

Really? Colours?

Meghan and Kate are cute girls, regardless their sartorial choices.

imaround Thu 02-Mar-23 21:01:24

Yes. Really. Colors.

Yes Katherine and Meghan are both gorgeous women. my opinion is that they look good in brighter colors. I also absolutely adore the Royal blue that Camilla has been Wearing with the Sapphires as well

How would we keep up with what is happening with the Royal Family if we didn't look on Gransnet?

Perhaps M&H should sack him for sensationalising?

Because she looks lovely in beige?
Lacking confidence? She is not an ingénue, she is a mature woman, an actress and a confident campaigner.

I know some people are anti-beige as boring but it depends - if it's more caramel it can be very flattering.

Move to the USA maybe? Apart from that, no idea!

I remember that Diana, Princess of Wales, wore a lot of beige.

She said she wore neutral colors for a reason. She looks good in bright colors. So does Catherine. So does Camilla.

@norah, I am sure you can open any tabloid in the UK to read just about anything the DM you want to about them. Very few people in the US care. I have been a royal watcher for many years, but that is the exception, not the norm in the US IMO. Luckily for me though, what the monarchy does has no affect on me. So maybe you should move to the US, become a citizen and stop caring about H & M? There is rarely news here about them unless, of course, you are a royal watcher and your algorithm shows you articles. That can easily be changed too by not clicking on anything about them.
