What are Labour going to moan about if they win the election?

Perhaps there will be nothing to moan about.

Perhaps the time can be taken up reading bitchy comments.

Perhaps Angela Rayner will outrage the Tory GNs every day and we can have a good old laugh.

Perhaps we will simply wait patiently after 14 years of utter drama, lies and catastrophe for something positive to happen!

I predict that I will moan about Labour's economic policy if the statements they've been making turn out to be true. But then, all the UK political parties sing the same neo-liberal economics song.

As far as I can see, the only leader who has got the economics more or less right is Joe Biden.. Oh, but he's not ours..😆

Moan away - it will make no difference, but as we can tell you, it does make you feel slightly better.
It matters not a jot what the percentage of the vote was as long as you have the most seats by the way, that’s UK democracy for you.

I think every new government should be given a chance.
Listened to the new Chancellor banging on about the terrible situation they have inherited. And that is relevant because?
Just get on with it woman. You say you can do better so just go do it.
The problem I see is there are so many differing factions, there will be a lot of infighting.
We do need a strong opposition or weird things could get pushed through! We don’t have an effective opposition. Let’s see how it goes!

I heard the entire RR speech today, it was measured, a little boring (think she was nervous, her voice was boring, not the content), and there was no “banging on” simply factual, no easy way, a warning that it’s not a case of never ending money and that it will all take time.

Rachel Reeves was always very confident when in Opposition but it's a different matter entirely when you're in Government and your decisions and actions have consequences.
No wonder she might have sounded nervous.

At the risk of mentioning the B word, remainers like me were told to accept the result and stop moaning, so despite the closeness of the result which made it much harder, I did…even though I knew I was right….
For only the second time in nearly 40 years my vote actually

Labour should take a leaf out of the Conservative handbook - that bit where it says the party shouldn't blame the previous incumbent for the state of the economy, or when they mess-up...

... ah, hang on a minute - that's exactly what they did!

Well at the moment none of the opposition are doing or saying much, except the Libs who have offered to work with other parties where they can agree.

The Tories will be too busy navel gazing for months

The Greens will take their seats and if they are anything like Caroline Lucas, be impressive in their questions and in debates.

Reform has to somehow decide what its policies are - no one yet seems to know - so this paucity will quickly show in future debates.

The SNP will carry on as usual

The independents are an unknown quantity as yet.

So there is not an awful lot to moan about really.

Which makes a break.

What I’d like to know is what aspect of the previous government’s performance do posters think the new government, or for that matter other Gransnetters shouldn’t be moaning about?

Yep! That is always the fall back strategy of a new Government. Boast about what they’re going to do, then when they can’t do it because of the previous government.

It is not a "fallback strategy" - it is simply a fact that every new government will find that the actions of the previous government will have a big impact on what they do next.

Seriously though Iam64, reading some of these comments is like entering alternative reality. It’s fine for people to express doubts about Labour’s capabilities to do the job going forward, but the fact that the last government actually did implode in electoral terms because they couldn’t and were judged by the electorate on that basis is being missed here. The whole country is moaning so why shouldn’t we?

One thing that will be very different when criticising the current government, is that is will have to be based solely on policy snd not the fact that they lack moral fibre or are corrupt or fraudulent.

So much of the criticism in recent years was because the government was a total moral vacuum

Casdon, the OP seems to want a good row to develop. I’m with you in feeling on reading some comments, that I’ve entered sone kind of alternative reality.
The Conservatives earned a well deserved rejection by the electorate. To respond to that by suggesting Labourites might put some responsibility for the awful state the Tories left the country in seems like mega moaning.
