“A Trump State Department official has, on a number of occasions, called for the sterilization of “low-IQ trash,” a new report has revealed.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has appointed Darren Beattie to be the acting undersecretary for public diplomacy and public affairs, a senior role that represents American foreign policy to the world.

In May 2024, Beattie wrote on X: “Population control? If only!”
“Higher quality humans are subsidizing the fertility of lower quality humans,” he added, calling it the “Foundational reality of social and political life in the post-war West.”

““Pay smart people to have more kids, disincentivize stupid people from having kids. So simple but molds destiny on deep intergenerational level.”

He responded in September 2023 to news regarding African migrants rioting in Israel by saying that the Israeli government “could literally just round them up and drop them in the ocean. Let the ‘human rights groups’ whine... drop them in the ocean too!

Darren Beattie was a speech writer for Trump in his first administration

this all has a horrible ring to it from the 1930's.

And so the rise of facism continues, with Beattie a real blast from the Nazi past, and do any of us now question what Musk's salute actually signified? Indeed soon we will all be wondering how we could be so naive as to suggest it was just because he felt awkward or didn't know what he was doing.
I don't dare think about who else they will hire.
This is bad, this is really, really bad, even by Trumpian standards.

It’s only a matter of time before they bring back the discredited research on race, class and intelligence. These extreme views are really concerning both sides of the Atlantic, we have Rupert Lowe talking about mass deportations and compulsory acceptance of British culture every day on X, he is also fond of the term of ‘rounding up’ illegal immigrants. I am very worried.

I remember a social worker friend of mine going to Norfolk in the 80s to make arrangements for some patients in a mental health facility to be moved to our town.
Going through their notes with a Dr she noticed that NFN was written on quite a few of them.
Because she had never come across this before she asked what it meant.
The Dr explained what it meant: Normal For Norfolk.
This is a taboo subject that people would only discuss in the privacy of their own homes.
In the 50s we had a local woman who had educational needs.
She had 7 children born disabled. All were taken into care.
It’s a very emotive subject.

I find the ethos of eugenics chilling. I thought it had finally been discredited as a science after WWII.

The idea that somehow supposedly 'superior' humans could decide that what they consider to be 'inferior' human beings belong to some sort of subspecies and therefore have no rights is deeply repulsive.

The Third Reich were very much into eugenics.
The notion of superiority/supremacy is the foundation of facist regimes. There is a disturbing seam rich with such notions running throughout the Trump administration.

As long as it’s only mouthing off and not put into action then there’s no need to worry.

valdali Thu 13-Feb-25 21:52:52

Maybe they could check Trump's IQ & use that with a safety net of 10. A lot of the people Beattie has in mind would probably be the right side of that.
Of course if his IQ was assessed as less than about 110 he'd probably say the test was done wrong & sack the tester.

Say that if it ever happens ( it won’t)

Many people thought that Trump wouldn't follow through on his pre election rhetoric but he has. If people wait until things happen, it's often too late so US citizens who hate these vile politics need to act now.

Sweden was practising eugenics until the 1970s.

You should look at all his cabinet nominees. They are tops for racism and Christian Nationalism. None of them are qualified.

I think Trump is streetsmart and quite intelligent. Which makes some of the things he does even more scary really. I would be interested to hear from some of his supporters but they would perhaps be too browbeaten by the comments to come on here. He could do so much good with all his vast network of supporters , it is a shame he seems to be locked into forcing disadvantaged people to become even more disadvantaged.

SueDonim Thu 13-Feb-25 23:52:08

This is what the people of America voted for yet now they’re surprised when it’s actually happening. https://www.theatlantic.com/newsletters/archive/2025/02/the-trump-supporters-who-didnt-take-him-at-his-word/681674/

If ever there was an example of being careful of what you wish for, this must be it.

Doodledog Thu 13-Feb-25 23:53:39

Chilling.

Babs03 Fri 14-Feb-25 07:45:26

Many people voted based upon their prejudices and fears, such is the way with populism, without realising that an administration so hell bent upon absurdly draconian policies would also ‘come for them’.

Babs03 Fri 14-Feb-25 07:47:13

Be careful what you wish fur indeed. And now this genie is out of the bottle it isn’t only the US that will suffer but many other countries around the world.

He called the current free trade agreement one of the worst deals he’d ever seen and asked who’d signed it.

He did in his first term. Called it the best deal.

Who among us GNs is still naive enough to believe that Trump won't do what he has said he would?

Too many people forget what those nice Scandinavian countries get up to.

I cannot believe that anyone could write this and truly believe it.

You could say of every tyrant and dictator out that He could do so much good with all his vast network of supporters , it is a shame he seems to be locked into forcing disadvantaged people to become even more disadvantaged.

But what makes them what they are is that that is the last thing they want to do or intend to do.

Trump is not locked into forcing disadvantaged people to become even more disadvantaged. he has chosen to disadvantage the disadvantaged as a policy because he holds in utter contempt people who are not prepared to walk on the faces of those who he considers 'losers' - like his nephews profoundly disabled son, the poor, the ill, those who do not share the dog eat dog attitude that he has.

It is apologists like you nanna8 that bring these vile men in power. It is how the fascists reached power in 1930s Europe.

Some years ago Iworked for an organisation trying to help an elderly couple being abused by a violent son, still living at home. Everyone was involved, police, social services, health services, an ambulance team had witnessed the elderly man being hit by his son. But we were all useless because the couple, terrified as they were of their son, would not see him for what he was and refused to support any charges against him and were convinced throughout that all he needed was a bit of counselling to turn him into the perfect loving son. Nothing would change their minds. I do not know the outcome, my organisation could do nothing so withdrew from the case.

Trump apologists remind me of this couple and Trump reminds me of their son. In this case, I am, like the majority of people on this planet, we must sit it out, even though it kill us.

Babs03 Fri 14-Feb-25 09:18:39

If my old dad who fought against the rise of fascism in the Second World War were alive today he would definitely never believe that someone like Trump and his cronies could ever rise to power. Is an obscene slap in the face to all those who fought an alongside him, many of whom lost their lives.
Lest we forget!
What a joke!

Are you saying that was a good thing?

Now we abort on demand.

I thought Trump was against abortion?

I'm surprised that anyone would have the guts to actually say something like this. It's straight out of a Nazi handbook! The elimination of inferiors was a big part of their doctrine.

I do agree that certain criminals should be sterilised.
