Can't believe it. Baz has died

I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. He was indeed a beautiful cat and you must miss him terribly.

So sorry for your loss. What a shock for you.

He looks a beautiful boy and l am sure he was loved very much.

I’m so sorry to hear your sad news, it’s just devastating to lose a pet who has been part of your family. Try to take some solace from the fact that he didn’t suffer. Thinking of you.

Very sad Aveline, he didn't suffer so that is a small consolation. Our lovely cat passed away in the cattery while we were on holiday. We have another rescue cat now, she is 3 years old and a source of constant joy! Such a shock for you this morning, I am thinking about you . ???

Very sad, and such a shock for you, no warning or time to say goodbye, like we normally have. In the past I have hoped that nature would spare me making that final terrible decision, but it never did happen like that. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry about Baz. Must have been a shock! Our cat is 18 and needs constant attention.

Thank you all for your kind words. I just didn't know what to do with myself today so thought I'd tell you. I knew GNers would understand.

So sorry Aveline. Same happened for us with one of our dogs. Went into the kitchen in the morning and she was just lying there. Vet says it was a brain tumour. So very upsetting. Rest in the knowledge he was a much loved cat who had a good life with you.

So sorry to read about Baz. Our loved pets are a huge part part of our lives.

The suddenness is so hard for you, but a blessing for your gorgeous boy Baz, he didn't suffer and you didn't have to watch him decline.
I'm sure he had the best life with you and yours.

It is such a loss, but it sounds as if Baz didn't suffer and at least you have been spared the agonising debate with yourself about whether it is time to make that last ghastly trip to the vet!

I still expect to see the cat that died three years ago, and now that his surviving brother is coming up for fourteen, I am trying to accept that we probably won't have him much longer.

That last photo shows clearly that Baz was happy right up to the end.
