He was his usual self this morning then when I went to put laundry in the washing machine he was just lying there. I knew at a glance.
How can this be? Poor boy. He was only 10. Sorry . Just lamenting.

Who is Baz? First of all I thought that guy from the Happy Mondays shock but I think he's called Bez.

Commiserations if he is your pet Aveline.

Well bless him he went quickly.
I had a cat who came to the back door to be let in, meowed once, wee’d on the doormat and died. It was very quick for her.
Sorry Baz has goneflowers

That is such a shock when they go like that. You keep expecting them to brush past you, it is a horrible feeling. I always say that is the only thing wrong with our pets- they have short lives. ?

Aveline Sat 19-Jun-21 13:24:21

Sorry. Yes of course. He was our cat. The house is empty without him. This is the most photo of him.

Aveline Sat 19-Jun-21 13:24:37

Recent.

Poor you, it must be a great shock. He looks such a rascal in your photo, sorting out the paper from the box.

Charleygirl5 Sat 19-Jun-21 14:05:24

What a handsome boy he was. The only solace is that he did not appear to suffer and it happened very quickly.

Aveline Sat 19-Jun-21 14:21:17

Yes. It must have been a nice way for him. We've had to have cats put down before as they'd become ill. At least he wasn't ill or stressed at the vet.
The house is so empty.

I’m so sorry. flowers

We lost one of our two beautiful Russian Blue rescues this week so I sympathise very much. He was ill for a while and each night over the last week, I hoped that the next morning he would have gone by the time we got up. In the end, I had to call for the vet to come, which was heartbreaking. His brother is now so lonely and keeps looking for him.

How sad for you. So sorry.

Callistemon Sat 19-Jun-21 15:36:24

I'm sorry to hear about Baz, Aveline.

At least it was quick for him and you say he was his usual self earlier.
This happened to one of DD's dogs, fine one minute then they saw him lying down still. The vet thought it had been a heart attack, he was 10.

I’m so sorry for the loss of Baz. A beautiful cat - your true friend - and you will be shocked at his sudden departure. I know what you mean about a house feeling empty without a beloved pet.
We treat them like one of the family. RIP.
