HQ - can you clarify a point over which there is some current disagreement please You say that GN cafe is meant to be non- judgemental. Does this only mean non-judgemental re named individuals? if so, under the guidance is it fine to go on and pass judgement( negative of course) about groups of posters on the political ( or any other threads) so long as names aren't mentioned because this counts as being non judgemental?

Why is anyone surprised that such nice people can defend themselves? Even a worm can turn. Beware the anger of a patient man (or woman)

trisher Fri 16-Jun-17 17:04:41

Is that an apology MawBroon? Oh I forgot 'nice' people don't need to apologise.

NanaandGrampy Fri 16-Jun-17 17:04:58

Is this a slow day in the world of politics?

MawBroon Fri 16-Jun-17 17:07:31

Nppe.
Why?

Alima Fri 16-Jun-17 17:09:47

'Cos they're all on 'ere?

MawBroon Fri 16-Jun-17 17:10:41

Oops Trisher
FFS"Nope. Why?"

NanaandGrampy Fri 16-Jun-17 17:15:58

smile exactly Alima just checking !

trisher Fri 16-Jun-17 17:43:07

Because looking at Soops kitchen- which I don't post on- it only took me three pages to find the comment you made, which was replied to by the nice people in very derogatory terms and which was obviously about another thread and poster. But never mind you are all such nice people and sometimes (horrors) I swear.

trisher Fri 16-Jun-17 17:46:17

I don't mind anyone 'turning' Elegran and posting a spirited defence is always welcome. It's the sneaking away and posting insults without actually naming someone and then pretending you aren't being bitchy I object to.

trisher Fri 16-Jun-17 17:47:53

Sometimes all kitchens need a good clear out and clean up.

MawBroon Fri 16-Jun-17 17:47:57

Well always glad to help someone improve the shiny GN hour.
Three whole pages, such dedication to,proving a point....

MawBroon Fri 16-Jun-17 17:48:21

"Shining hour"!!

trisher Fri 16-Jun-17 17:53:03

I like to read things from time to time even. if I don't want to post on them. Actually it's Soop and GN you should be apologising to. I don't suppose she expected anyone to use the thread to unload their feelings about other posters. I don't know her, don't want to post on her thread but I respect her far more than some of the people using her thread for their own ends.

Rigby46 Fri 16-Jun-17 17:56:42

Actually NandG there's a lot going on in the world of politics today but as they are such nasty nasty threads, best to keep away from them eh?

NanaandGrampy Fri 16-Jun-17 17:59:58

I do try Rigby !

Ps Trisher I have never sneaked away in my life ??

Elegran Fri 16-Jun-17 18:01:01

But I thought we are not supposed to name anyone? That was what someone at the start was saying, that the "rules" had been broken by naming someone or some group?

Whatever. I must get my shoes on and get off out.

trisher Fri 16-Jun-17 18:04:04

Ok you "Hunker down" seems much the same to me.

trisher Fri 16-Jun-17 18:06:31

Apologies NanaandGrampy it's MawBroon who does that.

trisher Fri 16-Jun-17 18:08:45

No Names aren't mentioned Elegran but the people involved make it fairly obvious who is being discussed. Does that make it better? I don't think so.

Rigby46 Fri 16-Jun-17 18:10:16

Actually trisher it makes it much worse and even spiteful.( but you know this)

MawBroon Fri 16-Jun-17 18:10:43

Are you insinuating I am vertically challenged? I am standing up I'll have you know.

Anyone who is blaming soop for anything but kindness on Gransnet can only be doing it out of jealousy. They resent the fact that she is universally liked by all but those confirmed in permanent sourness. She logged out early yesterday afternoon because she was so "ruffled". I told her to have a pleasant evening and to leave the sillies to stew in their own sour juice.

It's more than silliness though; it's mean-mindedness. It was perfectly clear right at the start that the Soop Kitchen was a retreat from argy-bargy for soop herself and anyone who wanted to join her in a restful, unruffling place. If it's not what you're looking for on Gransnet (and most of the time, it's not a place where I wish to leave comments, though I often dip in to have a wee read), then there are plenty of other threads, and you can make more yourself. Leave soop and her kitchen alone. Niggling in a sour and jealous way about it is bullying in its effect.

Hear, hear Baggs. I'm sorry to hear soop is ruffled. She does not deserve criticism and is one of the kindest, most generous and special people I know.

Some of us have had enough in RL to want to get into confrontations with anyone, especially total strangers on a public forum. I couldn't care less what anyone thinks of me because I don't want to read certain threads. Life is too short and with all the hatred going on in the world, it is a relief to find that there are kind, loving people as well. Long live Soop's Kitchen ?❤️???????

Greyduster Sat 17-Jun-17 07:38:17

Ok. It's fairly obvious that it's me that started all this off. I didn't name anyone. I just said what someone else on the London Fire thread said yesterday but I said it in the wrong place and they didn't. I expressed my regret. I will fall on my sword and leave Gransnet, so that the dogs can have their day.

Baggs Sat 17-Jun-17 07:59:54

You didn't start this thread, gd. You are not to blame.
