Stopping further additions to thread

Our church and others in the area supply lasagne every week to homeless people in the area . It has mince in it, we follow the same recipe. I prefer moussaka myself, love eggplants. How much do eggs cost in Tesco and do you like thin sliced or thick sliced bread or unsliced? Do you add salt to your food?
Do you enjoy spicy discussions ? ?

That’s the fun of a forum, all opinions are there, just as in life.
The urge to police threads should be contained, we don’t need even more rules to abide by.?
As for lasagne ( my speciality!) I will accept it in all it’s glorious forms?

I’m vegetarian, I mentioned this only to explain why I couldn’t remember the meat involved, and why I don’t hold an opinion on the meat involved

I was so captivated by Garfield that I did not notice the link have now read and understand the reference to sausage-gate, quite a debate! Lucca no offence but it was this "The recipe called for some meat which isn’t usually in a lasagne (I’m a vegetarian, so I know little about this part)."

I do believe that there are posters who want to post something/ anything even if it’s just to comment on the price of eggs in Tesco’s ?
It’s obvious they don’t read the thread by the amount of times the same answer is offered.
There is a thread at the moment where it’s obvious that someone is having a laugh but posters still keep responding. Hey ho ?

I dispute that Lasagna does not contain meat, there are a lot of variations on Lasagna and of course you can make a vegetable Lasagna but an awful lot of Lasagna are not worth eating. In my humble opinion

I agree with the OP that they sometimes go on endlessly and get repetitive because no-one bothers to read all the previous posts. Utterly pointless. The OP or Gransnet should be able to close the thread if they feel it's run its course.

Absolutely! Even worse when people come onto page 7 or something and announce that they haven't read the thread, then offer the most obvious answer that there is only a one in a million chance hadn't occurred to the OP or someone else in the course of 7 pages, or asks a question that was covered in detail on page one. It's just so rude?.

And it's not possible to 'just scroll by' if you are interested in the discussion - you have to read the posts to see if you don't want to read them.

Lucca was making a lasagne for friends, and was asking what she should serve with it.
The recipe called for some meat which isn’t usually in a lasagne (I’m a vegetarian, so I know little about this part).
Anyway, lots and lots of posters were up in arms about the inclusion of said meat.
Oh, and one charmer said that they were glad that they weren’t invited as they didn’t like lasagne.
It was quite ridiculous
