Rafel Nadal has just won his first round. smile What a nice man he is.

Andy Murray on court now - I am a fan.

I watch little television as a rule, except for this fortnight which I thoroughly enjoy!

I want Federer to win, too, now that Nadal is out of the championship. He is such a gentleman, and it would be great to see him hit that record smile

Murray......This is excruciating! shock

Annobel Wed 04-Jul-12 17:57:20

Innit! I am glued to my chair in terrified fascination. Rabbit in headlights syndrome.

Jacey Wed 04-Jul-12 18:10:14

Murray ...got bored! Given up on such erratic play! confused And can't stand watching his mother any longer shock
Have found something else to have on, in the background. grin

whenim64 Wed 04-Jul-12 18:10:39

I am loving this match. Fabulous tennis!

merlotgran Wed 04-Jul-12 18:31:52

I've come out from behind the cushion. It's great now!

Butternut Wed 04-Jul-12 18:43:12

Superb tennis! Murray and Ferrer so well matched.

Annobel Wed 04-Jul-12 19:07:18

They're not closing the roof, but what if it gets too dark - will they then close the roof and put the lights on? Why not just close up now anyway?

Jacey Wed 04-Jul-12 19:18:37

It would interrupt play for about 40mins Annobel ...so they tend to leave it until it becomes necessary. hmm

Annobel Wed 04-Jul-12 19:21:33

Confirms my opinion that they should have floodlights on the show courts independent of the roof!

Annobel Wed 04-Jul-12 19:38:26

Atta boy, Andy! That was a tough match!

Butternut Wed 04-Jul-12 20:07:37

Agreed, Anno -Great result!

I find I am now a Ferrer fan as well. A terrific player.

jeni Wed 04-Jul-12 20:13:14

Who won?

whenim64 Wed 04-Jul-12 20:23:54

Murray won, jeni. Can't wait for the next round now - it's getting better by the day smile

jeni Wed 04-Jul-12 20:27:31

Thanks!

I half watched Ferrer play the other day and thought I was watching Federer [only glanced at the tv screen blush]. He's rather cute, is he not, but looks better with his headband on smile.

I collect grandsons 4 & 6 from school on Fridays and bring them back here until after dinner. We'll be back here by about 4pm....just when Murray's semi final match will be due or just started. But I'm all prepared .....

Picnic table is set up in the lounge (opposite end to tv) with scrap books, scissors, glue, old Argos catalogues etc. That'll last about an hour or so but I have new toy helicopters as a back up. Dinner will be fresh ravioli, a 3 minute job that I can sort out between sets. Ambrosia rice for pudding, no brainer. Have made some fresh play doh as second back up. (To occupy, not eat!!!)

If all else fails, then bribery will swing into action with bags of popcorn and fizzy pop.

Any other ideas to ensure I get to see the match are welcome! grin

I didn't like the look of Ferrer at first, terrific player, but he was so pleasant and repectful when he was interviewed.
Some of the play between him and Murray was beautiful to watch.

Butternut Thu 05-Jul-12 11:25:26

Notso - Seems to me you've got it covered - good luck!!

How about getting them to chant " Come on Andy " as well ? grin

Notsogrand Thu 05-Jul-12 11:53:59

Butter grin

Marvellous tennis yesterday. Roger [swoon] and Andy, who played a brilliant game. It was so exciting, I couldn't vacate my chair and log on to my favourite website grin

NannaB Fri 06-Jul-12 09:22:25

As I posted 'Good Luck England' during he Euros, I am reluctant to say this but here goes 'Good Luck Andy'. Please don't blame me if doesn't wIn.smile

soop Fri 06-Jul-12 12:26:23

Roger is poetry in motion. What's more, he never appears sweaty or flustered. Rafs is a sweetie. I want to mother smother him! Shame that he had to go. Living in Scotland, I do hope that Andy will lift the trophy [before too long!].

Ella46 Fri 06-Jul-12 12:29:19

I am ensconced on my sofa, ready for this afternoons excitement! I want Roger and Andy both to win grin
