Rafel Nadal has just won his first round. smile What a nice man he is.

Andy Murray on court now - I am a fan.

I watch little television as a rule, except for this fortnight which I thoroughly enjoy!

Oooh soop he's done it!!! Great tennis again, can't wait for the next match with Andy. smile

whenim64 Fri 06-Jul-12 15:34:04

Wow! Federer is on fire today. It'll be his 8th final.

whenim64 Fri 06-Jul-12 18:51:25

Murray through - amazing match - both would have made worthy winners. Fantastic tennis! smile

merlotgran Fri 06-Jul-12 18:58:47

I think I'll need a large G&T on Sunday. Good Luck Andy! flag

Butternut Fri 06-Jul-12 19:02:37

Oh YES - Andy is through. Brilliant, I am so pleased. What an achievement.

What I really like is that he is completely natural when being asked intrusive questions after the match. He does not smooze. He's a little awkward, he's private and he is very talented! smile

Wine and supper now.

Mishap Fri 06-Jul-12 19:03:25

I put out a general invitation to locals to watch the final on our big screen - now that Murray has won, I am not sure whether we will be able to fit everyone in!!

Butternut Fri 06-Jul-12 19:06:39

I did that last year, Mishap - We had a great time. smile

There's always the floor!

Jacey Fri 06-Jul-12 20:42:51

Butternut Sun 08-Jul-12 08:30:20

Agreed, Jacey. sunshine

NannaB Sun 08-Jul-12 09:42:31

Marray and Murray wouldn't that be perfect! (Button or Hamilton to win at Silverstone that would be just great!)

merlotgran Sun 08-Jul-12 14:07:52

I can't understand why they don't have the roof closed. A hold up will not be welcome.

nanaej Sun 08-Jul-12 14:32:00

Pop--pap---pop---pap good luck Andy Murray..make a bit of history!

nanaej Sun 08-Jul-12 15:22:10

One of the ball boys on Centre Court was a pupil at the school where I was HT! Well done him..this is his 5th & final year as a BB. his brother is also a BB at Wimbledon. But congrats to David!

pammygran Sun 08-Jul-12 15:37:56

Help! Watching the mens finals...no fingernails left! Come on Murray!!!

AlisonMA Sun 08-Jul-12 16:22:38

He has done well so far, let's hope the rain break gives him a second wind!

mrsmopp Sun 08-Jul-12 16:52:28

I must be completely dim but why does rain still stop play at Wimbledon - surely the posh new roof should mean play can continue whatever the weather.
Unless they really do need a breather?

nanaej Sun 08-Jul-12 17:29:58

Not sure why either..maybe waiting for roof to close??

whenim64 Sun 08-Jul-12 17:32:40

When the roof is closed they have to adjust the air circulation and organise the lighting according to the prevailing daylight. That's why it takes 20 minutes or so.

nanaej Sun 08-Jul-12 17:36:16

Ahh! I lived in Wim for many years but know nothing about the tennis ..went to look round with the WI!!! The museum was interesting but expensive..would not pay to go!

whenim64 Sun 08-Jul-12 18:17:09

Yeaaaaahhhh! Roger has done it again. He's first in the world again - amazing. So sorry for Andy, and I bet he'll be in the final again next year. What a smashing match!! smile grin

whenim64 Sun 08-Jul-12 18:27:37

What an honourable pair they both are. I felt so sad for Andy Murray and all the family and friends he had around him, when I saw them crying as he tried to speak. And aren't Roger's little girls adorable? smile

crimson Sun 08-Jul-12 18:33:33

Never, ever thought I'd shed tears for Andy Murray but I did just now. I wish they'd just let the losers slip away after these games, but how brave and eloquent he was. Glad Federer has beaten Sampra's record, however. I do think that Murray is getting better and his day will come.

Butternut Sun 08-Jul-12 18:38:21

A great match by two terrific players. I felt so keenly for Andy, and admired his tenacity and sensitivity. A fine young man. smile
Well done Federer!
