There used to be a small coterie of rugby fans on Gransnet. What has happened to us? Am I the only one left? I have enjoyed most of the matches I have seen as 'open' rugby seems to be more fashionable than the 'heave and grunt' style previously commonplace, though the Springboks may employ that tactic against Scotland today. I hope not. Come on Scotland! Oh all right - Come on England too against the Wallabies.

I feel so sorry for the Welsh team! Respect. So close.

I am so proud of them

Head in the sand here, DH watched but I didn't.
I really thought they would go through.
wine time I think

What a great game. So sorry for the Welsh team, they deserved to win. They certainly gave us a nail biting game to watch. They should all be proud.

It was an honourable defeat. First half was neck and neck and SA had a real battle to win the 2nd help. Relieved that nobody stretchered off this time. I found that after the agony of last week a wine did help me to relax during the match. (I never normally drink at home.)
All Blacks have found their form, it would seem. What larks.

jess that is a spot on analysis. I thought the Welsh team played brilliantly and that final SA try was one of the best - if not the best - in the tournament so far.

I was on a local train yesterday packed with Welsh and SA fans, singing and larking about. The atmosphere was brilliant.

I am trying to decide wether to go to the Irish Pub nearby to watch the Scotland match, it was great last time but a bit more wary this time ?????
I can watch it on one of the French channels but I like to be in a crowd.

What a game! Scotland, Australia! Rooting for Scotland but can hardly watch.

One on it, one eye on here!

Well done Australia. Scotland were heroic! An excellent game played by two great teams.

Broken hearted. Just one point. sad

Big debate on validity of the last penalty. Will go down in history.

What a very biased against the Scots commentary. From the moment he started Jon Diamond was negative towards the Scots. Poor Scott Hastings having to sit beside him and listen to it without retaliating. And yes I am a very proud and disappointed Scots wifie.

The Scotland team deserve to be proud, representing the Northern Hemesphere in the semi finals.

My knitting got tighter and tighter! Had to knit (Like those two grannies they show in the adverts grin) to stop me biting my fingers!!

I was rooting for Australia, but what a match. Well done Scotland, you played brilliantly, just one point in it.

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 18-Oct-15 18:04:44

I always feel sorry for the guys who have to endure the post match interviews. Scotland always wears its heart on its sleeve and I wouldn't have it any other way. So proud we got this far and made such a fantastic game of it.

rosequartz Sun 18-Oct-15 18:06:32

I can't watch post-match interviews, whether rugby, tennis or whatever. They haven't had time to gather their thoughts - or even have a shower sometimes.

ninathenana Sun 18-Oct-15 18:08:56

Scotland the brave !
Great game, I was rooting for them, they fought so hard.

(I'm English) smile

Grannyknot Sun 18-Oct-15 18:09:02

wilma so are we heartbroken (my husband is Scottish). They were robbed.

rosequartz Sun 18-Oct-15 18:15:08

It's a pity only teams from the southern hemisphere are left in now, though.

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 18-Oct-15 18:35:00

Grannyknot my husband is English and loves watching Scotland.

Anniebach Sun 18-Oct-15 18:38:29

Noooooooo,

Alea Sun 18-Oct-15 18:55:53

J52, they are NOT, repeat NOT representing the Northern Hemisphere in the semis!sadsad

J52 Sun 18-Oct-15 19:53:09

Just rather rubbed salt into the wound sadsad

TriciaF Sun 18-Oct-15 20:53:37

I was nearly in tears - the Scots fought so hard!
We both have Scottish roots, so tend to support Scotland rather than England.
