Has anybody tried Floris soaps? Are they worth the money? I mean really-fabulous-nice-smelling etc ?

BBbevan Wed 28-Jun-17 18:24:09

My aunt gives them at Christmas . Lovely soaps. I look forward to getting them . And put them in my underwear draw until I need to use one. Knickers and bras smell lovely.

BB that's exactly what I do. Love Floris.

When my DD was born, kind friends and neighbours brought gifts for her, but one lady who lived across the road from us gave me a box of Floris soap - Rose Geranium, as I remember. It was gorgeous, and I eked it out! A real luxury.

I find that the more expensive soaps have a stronger scent and they last much longer, too. I always ask for some for Xmas and eke them out over the year.

I love expensive soaps. I don't use them on my face unless it's the olive oil ones from greece. The nicest one I have had was a coco chanel one .I kept it in a small make up bag and hid it so nobody else used it.
Also like the roger and galet ones , unsure of the spelling of that so might be wrong.
Never tried floris ones

I haven't tried Floris, must look out for them.

Jalima1108 Thu 29-Jun-17 00:00:08

Oh, just looked at the price!
Perhaps not
I will stick to my usual Scottish Fine Soaps.

I too love expensive soaps but I can't bear to use them! I've had a Chanel 5 soap hidden in my sweater cupboard for 4 years. And a dish of L'Occitan soaps in the bathroom for goodness knows how long. Roger & Galet soap is lovely too but I really can't justify buying more.

I love beautiful soaps, and spend many a half hour with my nose pressed into them in TK Maxx, much to the family's amusement/embarrassment. They're my only weakness (as if!). Some of the Italian ones are as big as house bricks though, so you've to be a bit nifty in the shower if you drop a bar near your toes grin. Floris are lovely, and Roger & Gallet. The Jo Malone ones I coveted, and got for Christmas, were a bit of a let down, as they didn't last very long.

I also love fancy soaps.

If people can't bear to use them, they probably eventually end up in the charity shops wink, which is where I buy them from quite often. But recently I bought one that was so old and brittle, it wouldn't lather at all. I had to chuck it away.

I love really nice soap, the only name I know was Floris, but I will go and lookat Roger & Galet and L'Occitane now - thank you. I don't get out to shops much at all so can't go and sniff - I'd have to be ejected at closing time if I did!
I got a load of Bronnley but they weren't just as nice as I remember them from years ago, so am on the hunt for something else smile

Jalima1108 Thu 29-Jun-17 10:24:09

Do they sell Floris at TK Maxx Maggiemaybe? That's where I usually buy my soap. I usually go to an exclusive little shop I know.

I love L'Occitane too and am miffed that I left my L'Occitane shampoo behind in a hotel recently, hope the person servicing the room took it home and used it.

Maggiemaybe Thu 29-Jun-17 11:11:19

I think they do, Jalima, but I might have got mine from one of the local Christmas/Summer Fair stalls (another excellent supplier of quality soaps!).

DH and I nip into our nearest L'Occitane shop when we get to town. Not only does this give me the chance to inhale more soaps, but they hand out coffee/juice upstairs and fizz in the basement. Guess which I go for? grin I don't know if this is the usual thing at L'Occitane, or if it's because it's a fairly new branch?

fumanchu Thu 29-Jun-17 17:53:30

They seem to have a shop in Edinburgh, I've asked my daughter to go in and get me some smile smile excited lol

Jalima1108 Thu 29-Jun-17 20:19:55

I will have to look in TK Maxx, it's a bit hit and miss there though.

I have a lovely friend who bought me a tablet of Chanel no. 5 as a gift. The perfume in the shower room is still lovely 6 months later. I use the soap every day and I think it should last me at least another 6 months+ It's one of the nicest presents I have ever had smile

fumanchu Fri 30-Jun-17 08:23:39

I might try Chanel too then... smile

NanKate Fri 30-Jun-17 08:52:25

Do try it Fu but close your eyes when you pay the bill wink

Greyduster Fri 30-Jun-17 08:52:25

Since I posted on here I have had ads for Floris popping up on every site I open up! It's like someone has been looking over your shoulder!! Prices? Phew!

annsixty Fri 30-Jun-17 09:14:12

Wow! 3 tablets for £23 but to be fair to them p&p is free if you spend over £100.
However I will stick to Simple soap or Imperial Leather.

wonderwend1 Fri 30-Jun-17 10:13:43

I get mine from the usa shipping costs plus the soaps are less than just the expensive soaps here, they are made with goats milk and the fragrances are out of this world, the site is called goats milk stuff if anyone wants to look
