something fairly simple, maybe a v neck. buttons up the front. Midi length? Nice fabric.

Does anybody know of such a thing please?

I would like something for me too!

Boden and Seasalt have some nice dresses. Not sure about buttons up front but nice.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 09-Jul-18 10:15:51

Definitely Boden, they have mid length dresses buttons from neck to waist, many patterns and colours.

David Napier, on line, do a range of dresses in that style.

I agree I have several Boden dresses so easy to wear, wash and not iron and discounts usually available. I also like White Stuff, Seasalt, Fat Face and Joules. If its a special occasion its Hobbs for me.

How about

www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/clearance/womens-view-all/dresses/w0094-blu/womens-chambray-jade-dress

fits the decription and in the sale!

Ooh that's lovely Humptydumpty.
I shall have to keep my credit card firmly in my handbag!

www.lindybop.co.uk/ionia-sea.html

If you like the style, search for Ionia on the site and it comes in a bunch of colours and patterns.

Stretch cotton, midi length, lots of sizes, very comfy on. V neck not too deep on.

Also have a look at the Kody. www.lindybop.co.uk/kody-mustard-ditsy-floral-print-tea-dress.html

Again, various colours and patterns. Lined with chiffony overlay. Very comfy with stretch gathering at waist.

muffinthe moo I do like those. I've never heard of that lindybop. My daughter would love it too.

PamelaJ1 Mon 09-Jul-18 16:58:45

Try e-bay . If you put in a e.g. fat face (other brands are available) then choose ‘ne2 without lables’ you can get a bargain. You have to know your size though.

PamelaJ1 Mon 09-Jul-18 16:59:19

That’ll be new not ne2

BBbevan Mon 09-Jul-18 18:32:11

Try Toast, Expensive but lovely

Melanieeastanglia Mon 09-Jul-18 19:12:42

Have you tried Seasalt or White Stuff?

OldMeg Mon 09-Jul-18 19:35:06

I’ve bought a coupe of very comfortable and flattering dresses by Manderay at Debenhams. Reasonably priced too.

Jalima1108 Mon 09-Jul-18 20:15:44

I have a dress similar to the one pictured in lindybop in a totally different colour - however, it's a bit hot for this weather, being chiffon over a lining. I nearly threw it out because I thought it was a bit young for me.

mumofmadboys Mon 09-Jul-18 21:57:37

I would support Seasalt too

lemongrove Mon 09-Jul-18 23:03:39

Mantaray at Debenhams.

PamelaJ1 Tue 10-Jul-18 09:09:37

mumofmadboys. I’m a size 12 but on the bigger end of the spectrum. Are sea salt generous in their sizes or a bit on the mean size?

There was a time - 50 years ago - when I thought nothing of buying some pretty cotton and running up a dress in a day. Now I seem to have lost all confidence in my ability to handle a sewing machine, not to mention a pair of scissors. I need to shorten a skirt which I bought from Ebay , very pretty but a maxi when I thought I was buying calf-length. Maxis make me look dumpy... or dumpier. How lovely it would be to make myself a dress!

Jalima1108 Tue 10-Jul-18 10:33:34

I haven't 'run up a dress' on the sewing machine for about 20 years when the last one I made was an absolute disaster. I have made cushions, curtains and lots of bunting though.

annep Tue 10-Jul-18 11:31:39

PamelaJ I think true to size. Anyone??

annep Tue 10-Jul-18 11:33:30

Its a problem wondering if something is too young looking. ....I usually ask my daughter but sometimes I don't agree with her ?
