How many pairs? (Ankle boots again)

I’ve done it again, that well known comfortable shoe firm whose name is the opposite of colder have offered me £20 off!

Well it would be a shame to waste that wouldn’t it so I have ordered a new pair of the very very comfy chocolate brown suede Pixie which I wear every day. That way when they get really knackered I have a smart pair (for the unlikely event of actually going anywhere) and after too many abortive attempts with ankle boots from other sources, I know these are as comfortable as slippers!
BTW not answering my own question, that’s between me and my confessor!

Anno check out the latest Hotter £20 off offer!

I have one pair of ankle boots at a time. I need a new pair now and have been eyeing some biker boots in Next. Hmmm

Missfoodlove Mon 05-Oct-20 22:14:56

5 pairs of ankle boots?.
However 3 pairs are at least 5 years old.
I buy good quality and look after them!

WOODMOUSE49 Mon 05-Oct-20 22:15:10

I've received an email from said company. As a VIP customer they are giving me £10 off and free delivery.

You must be a very special VIP to get £20 off MawB2.

Give it a day Woodmouse , mine came just after I had placed another order (to my chagrin) .
You could ring them and ask fir the £20.

Not actually sure. The opposite of The colder company had a good deal for sandals recently so I bought two pairs. Plus a pair of smart shoes which look like mauve lizard skin. Oh, and the two pairs I bought the other week in John Lewis. I have any number of black leather ankle boots - my faves are a leather and suede pair from M&S. I have a lovely green leather pair too with red satin lining. And I’m looking forward to wearing a navy blue pair of ankle boots bought last year in the sales. My very favourite pair of boots though is a pair of purple Doc Martens, which I only wear if I’m not driving.

Maw, I can't find the £20 off offer, just a postage free offer. I'll keep looking. I'm very tempted by the Daydream ankle boots with furry lining. It looks quite popular, so I will have to make up my mind soon.

Anno thanks.i wanted to actually try a few pairs on but not keen to travel to my nearest big city to the Skechers shop !

My problem is twofold, my grandmother would have said that I had ‘very awkward’ feet, but was ‘very light’ on shoes. Consequently, if I ever find a pair of shoes/boots that is comfortable I buy them because they are not easy to find. This means that I have pairs that are several years old. My attitude to shoes and boots is, however similar to the attitude of some people to toilet rolls!

That code works for 20% off but you still have to pay delivery. Pity we can't combine it with the UKFD20 free delivery code.

I've got 4 pairs of boots and some Gor-Tex walking shoes.

I take a size 9 (43) and colder are spot on with their sizing. Lots of choice with size 9 too. smile

Marydoll Mon 05-Oct-20 22:59:25

Most companies don't allow you to combine codes. I should know, I'm the voucher queen.

I have POUCH installed on my PC. It automatically checks for discount codes.

I’ve four pairs. The warm lined khaki ones, the grey ones with a faint pale blue paint stain that I must get out (or throw out), the lovely soft chestnut leather ones bought in a sale and too small (so car/bar only), and the Fitflop suedes that get 90% of the ankle boot wear time. My black ones split last year, so there’s a vacancy in the shoe rack.

I've had umpteen pairs of boots but have just cleared the cupboard out for moving so donated a few pairs to charity however some years ago I bought a pair of Clarks lace up short boots with fur trim in a beige colour. I've worn them to death as they're so comfy and tried to get another pair but obviously no longer made. Imagine my delight last year to find a pair of black ones on e-bay for £7 in my size!! I ended up paying £15 for them but still a bargain as they were unworn. Soon be time to get them out again for winter smile

I also bought a pair of Moda in Pelle high boots last year - I found the box with Christmas decs in last week but can't for the life of me remember what the boots are like - no doubt they'll turn up when I pack the shoe cupboard grin

I've got four pairs of Pixies, three Whispers, umpteen UGGs, and another four biker style boots.
I only ever wear flat boots or trainery type shoes.
So glad it's Autumn and all the nice clothes can come out.
Cardigans! Woo!grin

I love ankle boots and have brown, tan, black , khaki, have just three high pairs

Sheilasue Tue 06-Oct-20 10:01:31

Have a pair of longer length uggs for the really cold weather but am looking to buy a shorter pair. Yes they are pricey but sturdy and last and last so you get your money’s worth.

kathyd Tue 06-Oct-20 10:23:41

I have no boots or shoes. After a bodged knee op my ankles have swollen so much that I can't wear either.
What I think looks really ugly is ankle boots worn in summer with a delicately pretty floaty dress.
Many photos for sewing patterns display them like this. I can't understand how anyone thinks it's a good look.
But then, I think tight jeggings and leggings aren't a good look either.

Nortsat Tue 06-Oct-20 10:33:27

I have 2 pairs - one from Hotter, which I wear in the snow and one lighter pair from Moshulu, which are reserved for cold mornings.

I also have a super pair of suede desert boots in black with leopard print trim. I bought them in a Clark’s summer sale for next to nothing, then put them away for the winter and forgot about them. It was a lovely surprise to find them and I wore them a lot last year.

I have about 35 pairs of shoes. ? ??

Spec1alk Tue 06-Oct-20 10:46:34

I feel so much better after reading all your posts! I thought I was the only one who has lots of pairs of ankle boots! The only pair I bought that went to the charity shop fairly quickly was a pair of Chelsea boots ( no zip) I prefer a zip or two. My favourites are Jones and Ecco.

A couple of weeks ago I bought a pair of sandals half price from that well known site. Before they arrived they sent me an email showing the said sandals a further £20 off!!
Not risking it with boots.

That happened to me too! I hadn't even received said sandals when they had reduced them again. I complained and was told it was too late as they had already been sent out. I told them that in that case I would send them back as I didn't want to wear them as I would be reminded of the fact I had been cheated out of £20. A couple of days later I had an apology for the way I had been treated and £25 credited back to by card.
I'm very careful about ordering from them again now though.

Funnygran Tue 06-Oct-20 10:50:13

MawB I love the look of those boots and the fact you say they are like slippers to wear. I've seen them in the Hotter catalogue and have a lot of their shoes. Do they stay on? A few years ago my daughter had Ugg boots and said how comfortable and like slippers they were but eventually they became very baggy and slipped around when she was walking.
