ladies, I'd love to hear your recommendations for what nightwear you're wearing. Going into the colder months, I struggle with where to buy my nightwear, I like it to be warm but not fleecey! Also I'm usually a pj wearer but I'd be open to trying something new if anyone has any good suggestions! Thankyou smile no budget if its worth the money !

I wear nothing, all year round. An electric blanket which I turn off when I get into bed and a feather duvet in the winter. Once you get used to going commando there's you can go back to being strangled by a nighty! no way

I have been known to wear dh’s thin but thermal and extremely comfortable long johns (he never wears them) with a long sleeved cotton T shirt.
TBH the LJs are more comfortable than any of my own pyjama bottoms!

Oversize mens' T shirts in pure cotton. I prefer the navy blues and greys rather than sickly pinks. The added bonus is that they are available from £5 in supermarkets and they wash well. Before you ask, they aren't seductive. I have a lovely feather and down duvet which keeps me warm in Winter.

Short sleeved t-shirt style nightie but I do have what I call my ‘Bridget Jones’ PJs for extra cold weather or when we’ve been away & the bedroom hasn’t heated up enough. Or we’ve had a long power cut. Rarely wear them but they can be comforting!
Just moved & this new place is warmer so maybe the BJ PJs won’t be needed again.

Cotton jersey pyjamas. If I want to sit up in bed when the heating's off I stick my head through the neck hole of a stretchy black poncho I have so that only my eyes can be seen. Keeps my top half covered. DH calls it my bed burka.

I love Primark for pjs such great value, they do some really cosy ones and do lots of nighties too

Jaxjacky

Nothing, year round.

Me too, they just tangle up all round you whether it's pjs or nightdress.

I have reached the grand age of 77 and have never thought to use hairdryer to warm the bed. Wrll done CariadAgain.

While I was married, we both slept naked, now that I am a widow, I have reverted to nightwear of a long t-shirt,as apparantly you can no longer buy jersey cotton nighties and flannal is a thing of the past too.

From now until May, the heating is on, although I am still sleeping with a summer quilt - my winter eiderdown keeps asking when it is coming out of the blanket chest, though.

In cold weather I warm my bed with an electric blanket, which I pull out before going to bed, as it is lumpy to sleep on, and usually add a lightweight quilt and two cats to the keeping warm equipment.

At no time is the window open at night unless the temperature rises above 40 degrees centigrade, which is unlikely at night.

Brushed cotton pj's and bed socks for my ice cold feet. Electric blanket as necessary and a warm fleece dressing gown out of bed.

Jaxjacky Thu 12-Sept-24 14:19:18

I must confess to an electric blanket, it goes off when I get in, a hot husband in residence too.
I get showered and dressed straight from waking, so never use a dressing gown or similar.

Discovered Cyberjammies a few years ago and they are my “go-to” for nightwear all year round

jd79 Thu 12-Sept-24 14:36:58

Arewethereyet You did make me laugh thanks :-)

I never used to wear anything same with my DD but as we got older shorts, my backside gets so cold. Now there's just me I hadn't realised how cold the bed was though I've sort of got used to it. My go to bed now in the winter is a long sleeved night shirt and long pj bottoms, they both took a while to get used to but needs must and most of the year bed socks - freezing feet haha!

Furry long sleeved pyjamas and a thick furry hoody over the top with the hood up, socks, 2 duvets and 2 hottie bottles ..….
and in the winter …..🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am a Pisces so cold blooded

Fae1 Thu 12-Sept-24 15:05:46

Old t shirts (and a leccie blanket in Winter). I have some nice brushed cotton pjs and nightdresses that only see the light of day when I have visitors or in case of a hospital emergency.

GrauntyHelen Thu 12-Sept-24 15:06:18

I sleep naked but have a variety of bedding from just a cotton sheet up to fleece bed sets summer and winter weight duvets

Cagsy Thu 12-Sept-24 15:07:27

Nighties that are like longer short sleeved t shirts

VerbenaGirl Thu 12-Sept-24 16:06:42

Brushed cotton. Have some from Fat Face that I love.

BlueSapphire Thu 12-Sept-24 16:32:38

Nothing - apart from knickers, - and socks if it's really cold! About to change to my autumn duvet, and come November probably my winter one.

HowVeryDareYou2 Thu 12-Sept-24 16:37:04

Pyjamas that have cuffs on the ankles (so they don't flap about), fluffy socks. My duvet is 4.5, which I use all year round. A fleecy blanket on top when it's very cold weather.

MamaB247 Thu 12-Sept-24 17:43:00

I buy cheap temu sweatshirts and temu tracksuit bottoms they're warm, not fleece and soft to the touch. I'm autistic a d love the feeling of these.

polnan Thu 12-Sept-24 18:10:39

oh gosh, you have made me laugh and encouraged me.. my dh no longer here, so I miss his warmth, I use an electric sleeping blanket.. lovely... and as for the bed socks, some people have mocked me for saying I wear them,, so thanks I like them on when getting into bed, but soon kick them off. I have long nighties and pj`s.

ANMI52 Thu 12-Sept-24 18:11:23

Vest top and nickers all year round. Sometimes socks if my feet are cold, since I lost my DH

TanaMa Thu 12-Sept-24 19:06:05

Wear nothing in bed, which I like to be as cold as possible when getting in as it gets hot so quickly once I am in, lightweight throw and windows open all year!!
