I’m excited to discuss the latest styling and fashion trends! With each season bringing new looks, I’d love to hear your thoughts on what’s currently in vogue. What trends are you loving right now? Are there any jacket styles you think are overhyped?

loopyloo Fri 20-Sept-24 09:22:58

Yes, at one point was desperate for a denim jacket then decided it was becoming a cliché.
Have been getting my autumn clothes out and thinking this is not what I want to wear now.
Even thought about having very few things and throwing them away at the end of the season.

I have relatively few clothes =- and do not throw them away at the end of the season, just replace them when they wear out.

This summer I bought a highly fashionable white broderie Anglaise trimmed shirt. It was another month before I discovered it was the fabiric of the season.

Frankly I prefer style to fashion. It is more individual.

I'm wide leg jeans, with a navy waistcoat white Teashirt, silver loafers matching bag at the moment, too warm for much more. Linen shirts still good for this time of year.
I have just bought a brightly coloured cashmere jumper from Boden I'm keen to wear it but it's still too warm.

Me too.

I do watch the latest fashions and enjoy it but I wouldn't buy something because it was in fashion. Sometimes something that is in fashion is just what I want.

I've just bought two soft knitted jumper dresses, one green and one blue. Length just above the knee, they look good with 70 denier black tights and flat black leather loafers or boots.
We're going away this weekend but I've decided the weather's still a bit warm for them, so they'll have to wait a while!

Not everyone has the figure/ height for whatever’s fashionable, I take an interest in the latest styles/ colours and try and adapt them to suit me.
Have seen a lot of the colour chartreuse but wouldn’t buy it as it doesn’t suit me.

I wish I knew. I keep ordering things and sending them back. My nearest Post Office know me well.

On jackets, I like the shackets that are in fashion at the moment, I’ve just bought a lovely cream cord one for this autumn. Bomber jackets are also in at the moment, but I’m not so keen because they are too short for my liking, and only flattering on the slimmest figures. I also don’t favour embellishments like sequins, or animal print, and I’ve noticed quite a bit around this year.

You and me both!
My friend was horrified when I said I was buying an "old lady" shopping trolley earlier this year, but it's great for taking all the parcels to the post office 😂

I really want some leopard print jeans.

Jaxjacky Fri 20-Sept-24 19:24:53

I don’t think I’ve ever been ‘excited’ about clothing or accessories, more eventful things in my life I enjoy.
I do buy online, from suppliers I trust, or charity shops, rarely buy new until, like Monica items have worn out.

Visgir1 Fri 20-Sept-24 19:32:41

Casdon /V3ra... I use the Post office app to send mine back.
The Postman picks them up form your house. I found the pick up for the following day can be hit and miss but 48 hrs works a treat.
Worth a go..

I was recently told how great I looked in my Boden denim midi dress bought very cheaply on EBay. I am definitely into buying Max Mara or Max Studio just now on EBay. Plus just bought some great jeans in M&S in the sale to go with my designer tops…. I am quite pleased that looking good does help when dealing with stroppy hospital consultants!

I am quite pleased that looking good does help when dealing with stroppy hospital consultants!.

A few years ago, I went to a hospital appointment in my M&S outlet, bargain, faux fur coat, wearing my Gemporia jewellery.
The surgeon told me he could not believe my age, loved my ring and that I looked fabulous.
I sat there simpering, what a charmer, he was. 😉

All said and done, he was an excellent surgeon.

How nice that you can carry off a fur coat Marydoll faux or otherwise, I would look like a short bear in one😩

I don't really care what people think, Oreo, I dress for myself.
I have more than one. Not only do I look like a short bear, I look like a cuddly, round, vertically challenged bear.😂

😂🐻
I don’t care what others think either, only what I think and I think I wouldn’t like what I saw, if that makes sense.🤭

It does indeed!

My friends were very attractive and I was the plain Jane in the corner. However, I have worn better than them and like a good wine, have matured with age! 😂
That is what I tell myself.

Visgir1 thank you for the suggestion about the post office picking up from the house.
I've noticed that as an option, but I wouldn't be able to stay in all day so would be worried about missing the collection.

loopyloo Sat 21-Sept-24 06:00:37

Interesting. I sent returned something at the post office for the first time yesterday! Pair of slippers that were too small.
Buying clothes would be easier if I had less tummy. Must work on that. Any ideas?

teabagwoman Sat 21-Sept-24 07:05:37

I’m just grateful if I find something that fits in a colour that suits me. I try to look put together but that’s it.

I use this quite a lot. My parcels are usually collected by the normal postman.

Things can be left in a safe place if you are going to be out.

Is this poster doing a survey.

I've ordered grey - to wear with tights.
