It's amazing when you think series like Z Cars went out "live". And why Quatermasss terrified me I don't know, with all its wonky and unrealistic scenery.

No; I've never been outside Europe. I'm excited but scared stiff at the same time. Never done a long haul flight and not sure what I can and can't put in my luggage . At least I can give you lots of tips when I get back.

Thanks Tegan. It depends on the airline whether the long haul experience is good or not. But Americans don't put up with poor service, so going to the USA should be a good experience. Enjoy the trip.

The best day of the week for me was Saturday which we always got to spend with my dad. Started with the Horse racing where my brother, my dad and myself would put 2d on a horse and if it did not come in the first 3 it would roll over to the next race. The the wrestling, and then fat burnt sausages with thick bread and butter and huge mug of tea with two suguars. Heaven.

Tegan I've been to Florida. Get a couple of books, puzzle books, travel games, anything that will pass time. Also move about a fair bit and maybe some flight support stockings?

NanKate and Ana My claim to fame was that I got into a lift with the gorgeous David Essex around 1990 ish. He was right there, right beside me and what did I say to him....nothing! I was dumbstruck. He had been in the panto he had put on in Liverpool that Christmas. How I wanted to rewind that night and say something to one of my idols of that era. Gutted.

What a missed opportunity Rubylady but I can understand how you were lost for words.

In the 1960s I lived in Stratford upon Avon and one night I had gone with the family to see Rudolph Nureyev dance. I was looking through the front window the next day and he walked by. I grabbed my programme and with the rest of the family we chased him down the road to get an autograph.

He smiled and said 'I see you have brought the whole family with you'. He was just lovely and signed my programme and walked off back to the theatre. Wow what an experience. I don't think I said much either.

The Avengers, and The Prisoner - those were my big ones. Did occasional jobs on TOTP, but looked on it as prole feed... Did one with Fat Reg, aka Elton John. The song was Honky Cat, and I had to wear a mouse costume!

David Essex is still gorgeous, I watch him on u tube often. beats the younger generation. I luv 'hold me close' and 'winters tale' xxx

NanKate Lol, the younger generation wouldn't know who Rudolph Nureyev is. Glad you got his autograph though, more than I did. I was in the lift with my husband and baby daughter too, although I could have kicked them out!

My cd player has given up so no music for now. But good thinking ethelbags1 I've just put Winters Tale on youtube. Thank you.

Bonanza- (the tune still gives me a tummy flip!). Little Joe was my hero. Daydreaming about him got me through many a maths lesson - and woe betide anyone who tried to phone me on Friday night at 8pm! ( sigh...)

Wasn't Little Joe gorgeous rockgran with all those girl friends who always conveniently ended up in jail or dead I also had a big thing for Robert Fuller in Laramie - he was only twice as old as me .... it could have worked!

Deedaa just looked him up on Wiki. He has his own hair, and no beer belly and raises horses. Do you fancy a trip to the US to check him out ?

I just couldn't do anything or go anywhere on a Saturday night until I had seen The Monkees. I had such a crush on Davy Jones(sadly no longer with us). Emergency Ward Ten was another not to be missed.

I loved the Monkees too - Mickey Dolenz was my favourite.

I loved Bonanza too though I was 'in love' with Adam (I think that was his name - the dark haired one)
