Is there anyone else around who has become bored with Loose Women? I used to enjoy the programme but really from last year have found it very tedious and predictable. Whatever became of Carol McGiffin?? My least favourite panelists were Denise Welch and Sherrie Hewson and Andrea McLean is just annoying. Glad to get that off my chest grin

I used to really like it but not now. I agree re some of the panellists. Denise Welch is so false, Sherrie Hewson tries very hard to be 'dipsy' if that's the right word. I've never liked Kay Adams since they had a discussion once entitled 'Is there anything to be proud of if you are English'. She said she couldn't think of anything an English person could be proud of and that she was glad she was Scottish or words to that effect. Nadia Sawalha said she felt closer to her Egyptian heritage than her Englishness. I was screaming at the TV, 'no but you are all happy to live and work here and get what you can'. The only one who stood up for the English was Coleen Nolan who comes from an Irish family (as do I). She said she loved England and was grateful for her life here. This was a long time ago but it annoyed me so much I can't like these people now. Bear grudges? Me? blush

I liked it when it first started and I thought Kay Adams chaired it very well. Then the topics became really "fluffy" and seemed to project the notion that a group of women can't engage in serious discussion. Well, at least that's the impression I got when I last watched it - which was ages ago.

Like Eloethan it's ages since I watched it, but it seemed more and more like a bunch of airhead women sat around bitching. All with great hair it has to be said, but that was all there was in their favour. If they weren't airheads then they were pretending to be. Which is even worse.

I watched it today and prefer the panelists of today.
Think Janet Street Porter is really clever, like Colleen Nolan, and of course Gloria who originates from just up the road, and quite like Ruth.

I agree that Sherrie Hewson worked irritatingly hard at being dipsy. Thought that Denise Welch was anything but ladylike, and Carol McGiffin..... wasn't sure ...

I usually have my lunch break and watch it for a half hour.
During the last season DH said ..... if any man spoke of women, the way that the panelists spoke of men, that there would have been an outcry.

Haven't watched it for donkey's years, couldn't stand Denise Welch, never shuts up about herself, Sherrie Hewson ditzy but not funny, Andrea McClean uninteresting as was Lisa somebody or other. Lesley the opera singer was annoying when she burst into song every so often. I used to like Kaye Adams on Loose Women, but think she's awful when she's occasionally chairs Matthew Wright.

Did like Carol McGiffen and Coleen Nolan. I do like Janet Street Porter and I hear Judy Finnegan is lined up and I like her as well, don't know whether they could raise standards, I'm not sure I could bother watching it again.

Interesting responses GNetters really agree with all of you Coolgran65 think you might be from the same part of the world as myself. Always liked Claire Sweeney and read in the paper at the weekend she is pregnant I send her all good wishes.

Caught a bit of it today and the guest was a woman who is working with Medecins Sans Frontieres in Africa with the Ebola epidemic. She was very matter of fact and interesting AND not a 'celebrity' but a proper celebrity. When the audience was asked if anyone would do what she was doing no one put up their hand!
