And the soppy sheep! I love it too and am full of admiration for the shepherds - especially the young ones.

Yes, I enjoyed this, it used to be a regular, didn't, a weekly one, rather than just the finals. The countryside was beautiful too, England in all it's glory, with the shepherds working their dogs. Lovely.

We watched it too, wish it was on more often.
We have a border collie and she's almost human and very obedient. A real little darling.
But they can be difficult too. Had a male bc and he was a "spinner" and chased cars. Eventually he attacked a car once too often and died.

I used to enjoy watching One Man and his Dog, until I realised that those dogs really do want to get at the sheep and tear them apart. In the nature of the best I suppose. Why would they be any different from any other dogs?

I put this on for few minutes only - not sure of the female presenters name and I am not at all referring to her accent when I say her voice really jars with me its so screechy- are presenters not taught to moderate the tone of their voice. Really put me off the programme - perhaps I was feeling touchy and tired!

Oh Teetime - the young lady in question (Helen Skelton) is a Cumbrian farmers daughter and proud of it. Matt Baker is also a farmers son from County Durham. Two presenters who for once understood the programme they were presenting and did so in the voices they were born with. Why on earth should they alter them ?

I'm with Teetime - love their accents, both of them, but don't like the lack of modulation in Helen Skelton's voice. It is about her voice, not accent: drop the volume and pitch just a little to make it easier on the ear. It makes my television vibrate! Otherwise, such a great programme, and she is a good presenter.
