Christmas tv.

I haven't read the listings yet but both the films you mentioned I want to watch. Also the double dose of Last Tango in Halifax which is on next week. Anything else will be a bonus.

All of the above plus Call the Midwife.

Ruby I have seen both films and they were great, you are in for a treat.

I am looking forward to watching 'We are going on a bear hunt' with my two young grandsons.

Haven't seen the listings yet. I look forward to marking them up for watching/recording/catch up. Isn't it wonderful the different ways we can watch the telly now ? My favourite way is to be snuggled in bed with my IPad resting on a pillow on my knees.

I was a bit disappointed with the crop of Christmas films - they could have done so much better, even with the "oldies", though I notice "The Bishop's Wife" with David Niven and Cary Grant is on and that is one of my favourites, and "The Great Outdoors" with John Candy and Dan Ackroyd, which I have taped to watch with GS. Greatly looking forward to "Last Tango in Halifax".

I'm one of the few people who hasn't seen Frozen so looking forward to that and The Lady in the Van.
Last Tango in Halifax, Dr Who, Sherlock, Call the Midwife are also on my list.

My choices are much the same ninathenana, I haven't seen Frozen either. Also Paul O'Grady and Christmas at Battersea. Bear Hunt had a good write up as well. A lot of animated stuff this time and I'm not a great fan of that.

The Real Marigold on Tour looks interesting. In the clip Miriam M meets a US pensioner who has had 10 facelifts!

I'm looking forward to that too Pittcity nothing much else taking my fancy though. Maybe Last Tango in Halifax but that about it so far.

£4.50 for the Christmas Radio Times is a bit steep and it finishes before New Year. Not much to highlight either.

I am enjoying the Lucy Worsley (wives of Henry 8th) series at the moment . Could watch programs like that back to back all day.

One Christmas Day, a few years ago, my daughter and I sat and watched episodes of Criminal Minds back to back all day long. It was great! (Maybe we were influenced by the champagne)

Must see Captain Philips it will be good because Tom Hanks stars and to my knowledge he's never made a bad film. Also it's based on fact so that's always a bonus.

Haven't seen the listings but there is only one programme that is a must for Christmas and that's Dr Who.

Must see: Call the Midwife, Last Tango in Halifax, Grantchester, The Sally Wainwright drama about the Bronte sisters, Father Brown, Coronation Street, Christmas University Challenge, Mrs Brown's Boys, The Real Marigold on Tour .... yes I have developed square eyes as my mum used to say!

Just started watching Criminal Minds from Series 1 so that will be on my tv if nothing else on. Lady in a Van - I've wanted to watch that for ages. Last Tango in Halifax is a must, Coronation Street & Emmerdale as always. Mrs Brown's Boys.

Don't tend to plan much unless I'm going out, get my tv guide with Saturday/Sunday papers - thrown out re-cycled several already

Oh how I yearn for the Morecambe and Wise and other greats around in the 70's and 80's. Call me old fashioned and not in the real world but I deplore the language used in the name of humour in many of todays programmes
I recently watched a series on What was Allowed in the 70's.
One of the presenters in shock horror exclaimed
'What the F--- that is disgusting' when one of those in a comedy programme hit another on the head with a frying pan.
Catch my drift?

Saw Woman in a Van on DVD from the library and I have to say we were both disappointed. I love Alan Bennett and Maggie Smith but for us this film just didn't meet expectations.
