I watched the first episode last night - oh dear was it juts me I thought it was dire. I suppose they all get life makeovers.

I'm enjoying it, even though it's far fetched in parts. I agree with you, seacliff, it's entertaining and the actresses aren't all glammed up - (well, I know Miranda Richardson's character is meant to look glamorous, but even here, we can see some wrinkles).

I'm just glad that it's about ladies of
our a certain age. I was just thinking that it was about time that we had a fat or at least overweight newsreader or weather person. We are everywhere it seems except the TV. There are exceptions eg in the soaps but they're always comic characters.

Loving this, real entertainment, unfortunately recorder failed to record third episode so I am going to have to wait for the repeat.

Mapleleaf Fri 19-Jan-18 11:36:38

If you’ve got an iPad harrigran you could watch it on catch up? ?

Smithy Fri 19-Jan-18 12:26:44

Its repeated on the Tuesday following at 11 10 pm if that's not too late for you.

paddyann Fri 19-Jan-18 13:17:28

I've always been a Zoe Wannamaker fan,I've never seen anything that shes in that isn't good .Wasn't sure of this the first week but its getting better

Jalima1108 Fri 19-Jan-18 13:30:05

It's a load of cliched drivel

But I am enjoying it grin

farview Sat 20-Jan-18 18:35:26

am still enjoying it..it's just 'relaxing'wine

gillybob Sat 20-Jan-18 18:46:33

I really like it too. I can’t help wonder if the husband is still alive and has faked his own death ???

cornergran Sat 20-Jan-18 22:15:17

My suspicion too gilly, time will tell eh?

Jalima1108 Sat 20-Jan-18 23:35:43

Yes, my first thought, although where would he hide?

bikergran Fri 26-Jan-18 09:18:34

watched Wed episode... (won't spoil it in case ) I will watch it till the end now although think the acting isn't up to scratch but easy to watch.

Maggiemaybe Fri 26-Jan-18 09:23:02

Total tosh - I'm loving it! I enjoyed Linda's moan about not getting her pension till she's 66 - go WASPIs! grin

bikergran Fri 26-Jan-18 09:30:08

gillybob I was thinking on them lines! not sure how many episodes there are hmm

gillybob Fri 26-Jan-18 09:41:35

6 episodes I think bikergran hmm

I agree with you Maggie it is total tosh.... but I love it too.

BlueBelle Fri 26-Jan-18 09:41:59

I seem to be the only one who thinks the acting and the story is really quite underwhelming I keep watching in hope but it really isn’t doing it for me. The dead cat and the over acting in the bedroom really was dire in my opinion I don’t find it funny enough to make me laugh or realistically enough to make me jump but I ll see it through but I won’t miss it

bikergran Fri 26-Jan-18 09:45:32

thanks gilly think 2 more episodes if I, right...(I could be wrong of course) smile

Deedaa Fri 26-Jan-18 11:25:24

Despite the dodgy plot I am enjoying it. It's more fun than I expected and great to see three great actresses having a good time (and Anthony Head) and nice to see Neville Longbottom getting established on TV. Was sorry to see the cat go though.

jusnoneed Fri 26-Jan-18 12:37:25

Gave up last week, no improvements appeared. Was just so silly, the woman killing the cat.. really?

BlueBelle Fri 26-Jan-18 14:02:52

Jusnoneed I d give you a thumbs up if we were allowed that fascility
I m surprised so many are overlooking the pure silliness and the poor acting but are really critical about other dramas

rockgran Fri 26-Jan-18 14:35:02

I'm enjoying it but wish they would dispense with the swooping camera work and too close - close ups. I find it better to just listen and glance at it occasionally.

farview Fri 26-Jan-18 19:19:15

Oh flip! Forgot to watch it last night...will just have to catch up next week?

Lovetopaint037 Sat 27-Jan-18 23:03:58

It’s a black comedy. Great fun!

trisher Sat 27-Jan-18 23:22:51

Pure unbelievable tosh. Ridiculous things happen, the women don't seem to have a brain cell between them and lurch from one crisis to the next. Don't think I can be bothered with any more.

Greyduster Sun 28-Jan-18 09:09:03

Thank you Trisher, you saved me saying it.
