Just found this mystery series 8 episodes on the BBC IPlayer. All set in Wales and from BBC Wales. Seen the first two episodes which I thoroughly enjoyed. Just wish the whole series was ready to watch.

Just finished watching it. What a brilliant drama.
Eve Myles is outstanding.
Thanks nankate for recommending it.

Glad you liked it too Mostlyharmless.

I think you need to explain yourself Gillybob. Poor SB looks rather worn out ?

Good news for all us "Keeping Faith" fans according to the Sunday Times another series has been commissioned. It's been an outstanding success via IPlayer, some 8 million viewers. We stumbled on it by chance in our house and binged on all 8 episodes over a few nights. I can't understand why it wasn't rolled out nationwide in the first place, so much better than some of the programmes that come with massive hype, for example "Collateral" with Carey Mulligan which left me very underwhelmed.

The article went on to say that although Faith's life implodes, nevertheless the audience were captivated by her open plan kitchen and scented candles. I quite liked her vertiginous black heels that she was prone to kick off at the drop of a hat grin not to mention the beautiful Welsh settings....AND the yellow mack is now as coveted as Sarah Lund's jumper was when it featured in the Scandi drama "The Killing"

Of course, what with her husband turning up at the end of the final episode, it very much left the viewer up in the air, so I suspected another series would hopefully follow.

That’s good news I really enjoyed it.

BBC Wales has said a second series is now being written ?

Pittcity Wed 02-May-18 08:40:41

Eve Myles is on BBC Breakfast this morning because Keeping Faith has broken iPlayer records.

Anniebach Wed 02-May-18 08:46:51

Unfair she will not get mentioned come the TV BAFTA's , she will get another Welsh BAFTA though.

merlotgran Wed 02-May-18 17:28:57

I've been binge watching today as DH went fishing and it was too wet to be outside in the garden.

That's my excuse grin

merlotgran Thu 03-May-18 14:25:58

I sparked a family panic yesterday thanks to spending five hours on iPlayer.

DD2 had an article published in a magazine and was looking forward to my proud mummy comments. shock blush I forgot all about checking my e-mails.

Apparently I'm NEVER off line for that length of time blush so she contacted DD1 who lives next door to check we were OK. grin

So in future if I fall over and knock myself out she'll probably think nothing of it!!

gillybob Thu 03-May-18 14:33:35

Oh I do hope "Steve Baldini" will be in the next series.

He will be won't he? hmm

merlotgran Thu 03-May-18 20:39:01

I have one more ep to go.

She's not exactly Mother of the Year is she? grin

NanKate Thu 03-May-18 21:21:10

I think she is lovely Merlot and I wonder if she is a mum in real life, she is so loving to the children.

Now Gillybob you can relax I am sure on good authority that Steve Baldini will be back in all his glory in series 2. A chap I rather fancy is the taxi driver in The Durrells. I wonder if he and Mrs D will get it together in the last episode ?

merlotgran Thu 03-May-18 22:32:11

She might be loving but leaving them with any Tom Dick or Harry while going off at a moment's notice?

Terrifying the poor baby by driving into the Badlands and being accosted by violent teenagers?

hmm

NanKate Fri 04-May-18 00:22:44

Fair point Merlot

Marelli Fri 04-May-18 01:22:21

Just finished watching the last episode (1.18am). Brilliant. DH snoring away at my side.....(bet Mr Baldini doesn’t snore like that)?. Can’t wait for series 2.

NanKate Fri 04-May-18 07:47:13

I think it was the best series on tv this year IMO.

I bet you will feel a bit tired today Marelli but well worth it.

TerriBull Fri 04-May-18 08:11:49

NanKate, I Googled Eve Myles, her absconding tv husband in the series, is her real life husband, hopefully minus the wig grin They have two children, so yes she is a mum in the real world, she certainly played the part very well. Looking forward to the second series, Mr Faith, can't remember the surname, will have some explaining to do!

Anniebach Fri 04-May-18 08:23:20

Evan will have a lot of explaining to do ?

TerriBull Fri 04-May-18 08:35:49

Yes Evan, heaven knows how I forgot that, Faith spent enough time leaving messages on his mobile along the lines of "Evan when you get this....." followed by a few expletives grin

Anniebach Fri 04-May-18 08:51:17

Terri, in Wales we have rather a lot of Evan’s ?

merlotgran Fri 04-May-18 09:06:47

Faith reminded me of a character in a drama about a district nurse a few years ago (I think she was called Frankie.) Ego driven and a right pain in the a**e as she bulldozed her way through people's lives. I didn't like that character and I didn't like Faith either.

Great ending though and I will definitely watch the next series.

gillybob Fri 04-May-18 09:28:32

Steve Baldini definitely doesn’t snore Marelli wink

Yes I agree with you there NanKate He’s bloomin’ lush.

Luckylegs Fri 04-May-18 09:42:33

I'm never going to be able to watch it now before it disappears from iPlayer tonight! Is there anything I can do to 'bank' it?
