Did they say all this over dinner Annie ? You seem to know a great deal about their intimate conversations .

Many of us have believed that, sadly it doesn’t always turn out to be the case.

I repeated what they both said Gilly, Charles said it in an interview on tv. Diana said it for tape recordings .

Bridgeit, I am not defending Charles, I am just disagreeing with judgements made with no proof.

I have not posted one lie in defence of Charles or to critcise Diana. The infamous tampon tape has been brought up on this thread. Inaccurately quoted. No mention of the Squidgy tapes .

Ohh crossed wires I think , my comment was in response to the comment about Diana believing it would be happy ever after
I was saying yes that’s what I and many others , thought, beleived , hoped for, but sadly in reality often this is often not the case.

I think in Diana’s case though Bridgeit she had been well and truly set up to produce an heir .

You think Gilly but you do not know. True the wives of heirs to the throne in the past were chosen by their past, this to avoid endless stories of ‘ I had sex with her ‘ , it was of it’s time.

I'm with Anniebach and Framilode. Whatever you think of Prince Charles he has done a LOT of good work over the years besides the Prince's Trust and appears to be busy from morning to night.

I have never claimed to “know” anything about them. Only my own thoughts plus what I have learned from various media reports .

The royals have never done the work I have done and I have never done the work they have done or do, thank heaven I haven’t

Annie in my opinion, the royals don’t do work of any kind . Not even for themselves. Drivers, cleaners, chefs, nannies, gardeners, valets, ladies in waiting......

But they do other work . How do you know they don’t drive themselves when not on official duties, how do you know they don’t do gardening ? You don’t know .

Not many of us are complete adorable or completely detestable ,as the song goes, we’re only Human after all ,don’t put your blame on me.
Just like any other family they muddle through the traumas of life as best they can, yes it does help not having to worry about financial stability etc,but they do try to do good as do many of us. If we have a Royal family or don’t , our lives won’t be any different, we will just be left with Politicians ?

Of course they will drive for pleasure ( they have a glut of expensive cars ) Charlie Will potter with his plants of course he will . Is that work though? Nope .

True gilly we will never agree on this . They have privileges I have never had , I have privileges they will never have

It's all so long ago now, the past is the past and there is nothing we, or they, can do to alter it. Yes, lots of mistakes were made as in all families, but we have to look to the future, Charles wishes to be defender of ALL faiths,which imo is excellent.. Yes,he's committed adultery,but I don't think that a merciful 'God' is that unforgiving, no one is completely perfect,and he is as frail and as strong as the rest of us when it comes to sin! I think he and Camilla will make an excellent team, and do us proud as our head of state.

So what would you have him do gillybob?! How can he be different? None of can help the family or situation we're born into. We can,however, make the best fist we can of it, and I believe Charles does just that.

A relative of mine has a good job & career because of the Prince’s Trust, many people have jobs within & because of having a Royal family, there are always two sides, fors & against.

Prince Charles will probably always & only be remembered for the Diana days, which is a shame, conversely Diane will always be remembered for the good things she did.
Very few of us are one dimenstional .

I would have him be honest and show some humility. Admit how very indulged and privileged he and his every increasing family are. Stop spouting the environmental hypocrisy (or carry on but then practising what he preaches ) . Not gonna happen though niggly .

Anniebach, texts are difficult. I thought you were quoting Jesus and saying we do not have the right to criticise ( let him without sin...) . Better just let it go Its difficult to have a conversation/discussion on line sometimes. I think we are all very divided on the RF. Its understandable when some people have so little and see others with no financial worries which does help one to be happy. For example imagine always being able to have your physician with you. How good would that be? What gets people is that our taxes fund the RF. and please dont tell me they have their own money. Ask yourself where it came from. I think thats the big problem. I dont mind if people are rich if they treat others fairly and share some of their wealth.

Gilly, he has two children and three grandchildren,soon to be four grandchildren, I have/had two children and have three children, most families in each generation have children and grandchildren, you have children and grandchildren too .

How is he hypocritical about the environment?

What humility do you want him to show? This really puzzles me

Can we realy claim this family do not share their wealth ? They do give money but will not announce it to the world.
