Is there an old programme you would like to see being repeated?
Gold and Dave etc do have some good old ones, but there are some that never see the light of day again.
I would like to see The Onedin Line again.

Definitely Ever Decreasing Circles Minimoon. And could we have a Re-run of Alan Bennett's monologues too? The ones with Thora Hird, Penelope Wilton and Patricia Routledge.

A lot of these are on Netflix. I’d like to see a programme called The Brothers, about a family run haulage business.

I did watch Brookside at one time and was quite sad when they wound it up.

There was an afternoon series which I watched for a while when I was pregnant and at home with small children "Take the High Road" set in Scotland in and around Loch Lomond. It coincided when my youngsters were having an afternoon nap.

More recently loved Stella, Mad Men and The Good Wife. The French series Spiral, I hope there's another one in the pipeline, just love it.

Further back in time and on a more serious note another fan of Brideshead Revisited, Family at War and a series from America, back in the '70s Rich Man Poor Man, I read the book and from Australia, Thorn Birds loved that, again read the book Dallas when it first started and briefly it's spin off, Knots Landing.

Little Britain, such an array of brilliantly observed characters. Similarly The Paul Whitehouse show again for the characterisations and his more recent one with Harry Enfield.

I wonder how Peyton Place would be viewed now?
At the time it was the most 'racy'? tv programme that had ever been shown.

oldbatty Mon 03-Dec-18 08:54:35

Wow , what a trip down memory lane. I remember watching some of these as a teen and looking at the clock ticking on the mantel piece, willing the episode not to end.

Colditz, Tenko, The Likely Lads ( but Bob). Quality entertainment.

For anybody who has not tried Spirale, you are in for a treat.

oldbatty Mon 03-Dec-18 08:56:07

The Alan Bennett monologues , brilliant and fantastic performances by people who knew how to act.

Anniebach Mon 03-Dec-18 09:15:48

Like BBbevan i would love to see Precious Bane again

humptydumpty Mon 03-Dec-18 09:21:50

There was this great series which my daughter and I were watching from YouTube - Young, Dumb and Living off Mum - don't know why they haven't made a recent series!

lemongrove Mon 03-Dec-18 10:09:00

I agree about the Alan Bennett monologues, they were repeated once, then vanished.
Although some older series do turn up on Gold/Yesterday/Dave there are many that seem to have just gone.

lemongrove Mon 03-Dec-18 10:10:20

Does anyone remember a series called The Brothers?
I think it was early 1970’s.

lemongrove Mon 03-Dec-18 10:12:14
