I'm starting this new thread as apparently our other one was over a year old!! shock

We'll have to do more gossiping to prevent this happening again.

Here's a link to the old one.

So well done Eddy and not over sentimental.

Who do we have to fill that slot now? Bert has gone to ground. Joe took over so well from Walter.

I was trying to listen while trying to shush three children! I’ll listen again on the iPlayer, so I can cry in peace.

Elrel Sat 12-Oct-19 22:03:52

Beautifully done.

Lovely scene with Clarrie & Susan, glad they are friends again.

Sara65 Sun 13-Oct-19 19:13:59

Me too, making me cry!

phoenix Mon 14-Oct-19 18:53:40

So, the funeral? They've got the plot sorted, I seem to remember Wiwlyum had a wicker coffin for Nick (green burial ground and all that) and you can have wicker coffins or even just a "proper" shroud (as in not just a winding sheet)

Still think it should be pony & trap with Joe's beloved Bartleby.

NfkDumpling Mon 14-Oct-19 20:06:17

Agree, it has to be Bartleby. What's going to happen to him?

shysal Tue 15-Oct-19 07:21:04

I think Bartleby will pine for Joe and die pretty soon.

Iam64 Tue 15-Oct-19 08:18:25

He'll stay with the Grundy's, have a key role in the funeral. If the Grundy's need him cared for elsewhere given the possible move, I'm sure Shula will step in.

I'm beginning to feel a bit sorry for Joy. Why doesn't anyone point her towards the W.I. or the church flower rota or the traffic census. She'd be an asset in all these areas. Good new character though

Iam64 Fri 18-Oct-19 18:55:29

Interesting new character AyjayF, put in there to drive listeners (and other people in the village) to distraction. She's desperately lonely, Rochelle has probably run to the hills and has vanishingly little contact with her needy mother. Breakdown city. Maybe she's to be yet another Archers character with m.h. problems.

phoenix Fri 18-Oct-19 19:04:13

"Interesting" is hardly the word for Joy!

for the first time in a loong, loooong time I have actually felt sorry for Peggy!

Avor2 Thu 24-Oct-19 20:38:00

phoenix surely that is going a bit far, Peggy deserved a bit of stress herself as she does dish out some to everyone else smile I think Joy has escaped from Holby City, wasn't she Scary Sue????? sounds very much like her, she was a nightmare as well, although she was lonely like Joy seems to be (perhaps Scary Sue has changed her name ?????)

merlotgran Thu 24-Oct-19 20:41:02

What's the gestation period for a cat?? grin

phoenix Fri 25-Oct-19 19:17:18

Well done merlot!

Kate, as ever is being daft!

Mind you, I expected better of Peggy, you would have thought she would have got Hilda spayed!

Scribbles Fri 25-Oct-19 21:15:48

Approximately 9 weeks, Merlot.

Scribbles Fri 25-Oct-19 21:17:55

Oooh, we could be in for Christmas kittens then!
grin

Scribbles Fri 25-Oct-19 21:40:45

Please ignore my previous post!

LullyDully Sat 26-Oct-19 08:31:41

5 kittens, right. That's one for Joy, to have someone else to chat to. One for Kirsty and Philip in their new house. One for Kate to keep to lure Yacob round. Any ideas for the other two?

merlotgran Sat 26-Oct-19 08:37:48

One for the Gills at Home Farm so it can report back (via Joy) what the heck is going on?

chicken Sat 26-Oct-19 08:49:30

Is that who lives there now? I've wondered about the new owners and when, if ever, they are going to become part of the village.

Scribbles Sat 26-Oct-19 12:20:37

Maybe one for Oliver? People won't gossip about a lonely widower bonding with a cat.

phoenix Sat 26-Oct-19 13:43:29

Doubt if Kirsty & Philip would have a cat, they have just put up nesting boxes!

phoenix Sat 26-Oct-19 14:38:40

I'm surprised this hasn't happened before, as I think unneutered females can come into season as frequently as every 3 to 4 weeks shockand

And as anyone who has had one knows, the signs are pretty noticeable!grin

merlotgran Sat 26-Oct-19 15:09:44

Maybe the Ambridge tomcats have been giving Hilda a wide berth? grin
