Game Of Thrones

Haven't seen a single episode and have no intention of doing so.
I love fantasy such as Lord of the Rings but from what I hear G of T is too violent and dark for me.
I'm not lambasting it, just my opinion.
I hope the new series is as good as your anticipating.

Love GOT and DH and I watched series 1-7 virtually back to back at the end of last year. Unfortunately don't have Sky Atlantic or NOW so will have to wait a while to watch the new series. Hope you really enjoy series 8.

I only started watching a month ago on GCs recommendation I’m halfway through series 2 so a long way to go but I’m enjoying it so far.

I watched about two episodes with dh and neither he nor I could find the enthusiasm to continue. Our boys/family rave about it.

I don't have Sky either so it will be a nightmare trying to avoid spoilers until I can find a way of watching the last series. Looking forward to it and dreading it in equal measures as I know some very beloved characters won't survive. In the meantime I need to rewatch the last series [the dvd is on loan to someone]. What I did read a while back is the idea that The Night King is actually targeting one person in particular; how or why we'll have to wait and see. When it ends I'll feel that a very important part of my life has gone [I've loved it SO much]. Every time I've thought part way through a series that it was getting a bit dull/formulaic something will happen that will just blow me away in a 'I didn't see that coming' way. I guess I'll have to read the books which follow a different storyline I believe. I did start reading the first one and found it to be incredibly well written. And there are going to be spin offs to look forward to.

I was very late in coming to GofT but have watched series 1-3 and have the next 2 Series on DVD to watch. I will watch it all in time. I was hooked from the start. We don't have Sky so will have to watch on DVD. Not always an easy watch or easy to remember who is who but very addictive.

The good thing about watching it on dvd is you can then watch/listen to the commentaries, which I find fascinating.

I can't wait! I've watched it all in the last couple of months, three episodes nearly every night!

I'm so looking forward to Monday it has been such a long wait. I've watched right from the beginning many times over it has been the best series ever. Yes it is quite bloodthirsty, it is certainly not for the squeamish or easily offended and in the first few series it did have a lot of nudity but they seem to have really got into the story now and it has just got better and better.
I'm looking forward to seeing the Clegane brothers battling out their grievances, it's a long time coming, I'd love The Hound to see The Mountain off.
I hope Tormund survives, I really like him, Ser Davos and Brienne.
I want to see Arya cross Cersei off her list.
I'd love to see Jon ride Raegal alongside Daenerys and Drogon.
I fear quite a few favourites aren't going to make it, maybe Jorah Mormont for one and didn't Melisandre say Varys would die in Westeros as would she, so maybe he wont make it either.
I wonder if Jon will find a bit of time for poor Ghost, he seems to feature less and less, we hardly see him now.

Every episode is brilliant, although some things hard to watch.
They will be making a film I think, and a series that is a ‘prequel’.

What did you all think of the latest in the saga? I thought it was a great 'meet up' episode.
I wonder what that intense look from Dogon meant as Jon kissed his mother? I think there's going to be trouble ahead when she finds out Jon is the rightful heir.
I've got an awful feeling about that crypt too, what is it full of again?

but if they had waited for George to get his backside in gear, we'd all still be wondering what was going to happen after poor Jon's demise

Is he dead???!!! No!!! I want to see him (one day - when the dvds comes out) sitting on that dodgy looking uncomfortable throne. Perhaps sharing it with Daenarys.

DS hasn't got Sky either. But he gets it in a very naughty way.
