Kirsties Homemade Christmas

Anyone watch this? Like to see all the different Christmas crafting ideas although some are completely bonkers.
Each episode, there is a competition between 4 people to be awarded best in the show. One time it will be cakes, decorating Christmas trees, knitting jumpers etc etc.
Each time I pick a winner and most times I am correct. This selection is not based on the best but on the worst and the other competitors must feel robbed.

There was one of these Kirstie programmes on TV when I first joined Gransnet about seven years ago. I attempted to follow her recipe for making a syrup from pine needles to add to cocktails.

We have four Scots pines at the front of our house but I forgot that they're there to form a windbreak and filter out the resulting fen soil!

Despite all the washing and sieving of pine needles, we ended up with a dark grey gunk that tasted like loo cleaner. grin

So it went down the loo.....Where else? grin

Can’t decide if I alike Kirsty or not but I do love the programme. I have used some of the ideas but the I am always doing something ‘crafty’.
By the way crafting is very good for your mental health and general wellbeing.

I love this program and watch them on sometimes on catch up as 5pm is a bit of a awkward time. Like others sometimes i like Kirty other times i think you smug, upper class madam!!!! Basically she is an astute business woman who has worked hard, after a privilged up bringing and landed on her feet with two good TV programs, crafts and houses, things that people like to watch.

Kirsty's messy paper bomb thing bursting all over the place, reminded me of the time mum told me when dad was tasked with looking after my brother and me.
She had popped out to go shopping and when she came back, the downstairs was covered with torn bits of paper.
To keep us amused, Dad had made us snowflakes, and her lovely, tidy home was in tatters.
She wasn't amused.

I find it all really superficial.
The instructions given for the green skirt run up in a trice were totally unintelligible to me, and I am a dressmaker!!
And still I keep watching... tchsad
Got to hand it to Kirstie though, she is a whole lot more rich and famous than I will ever be.

Saw episode where they were making Christmas stockings. One was doing free embroidery on a machine. Fascinating. And someone else was using electric thread. I am going to have a shot at a Christmas garland from odd bits of greenery.

must say she raises my heckles - and I often say to her 'yes, my washing machine is in the kitchen Kirsty- who cares' lol

How on earth did that video come up here after I typed my post???? Apologies, it was not meant to be there, for sure.

I'll watch any craft programs and enjoy this one -even the ridiculous bits.
The paper mouse was undoubtedly the best. I wouldn't have chosen the light -up stocking as the winner either although I was intrigued by the idea. Lovely idea of the picture of her former home on a cushion a lady did.
Metal reindeer was fabulous, as was a stained- glass hanging ornament in another episode. I would like to buy one of those!
