Seeing as we're all staying in a little lot more, we'd imagine the telly is getting a fair amount of attention. If you want to chat about whatever you're watching while it's on (or the next day) please do check our Telly forum topic and join in if there's already a conversation running. If not, why not start one? There's almost certainly someone else on here who's watching alongside you and would love the opportunity to dissect the plot/suggest whodunnit/debate actor's suitability to role/just want to say they love or hate it. grin

Did anyone watch ‘Marvellous’ last night? I found it while idly flicking through, it made me laugh and cry such a wonderful story about Neil Baldwin Stoke City’s Kit man

It was on BBC2 please do look for it on catch up you won’t regret it but have a hanky ready.

NanKate Thu 02-Jul-20 09:20:07

I saw it the first time round Tanith and loved it so much I have recorded it and will watch again at the weekend. Toby Jones is a brilliant actor.

Final of Glow Up. Eve, for me, has been the most creative who hits the brief. Love this programme.

Follow it up with more Talking Heads. Can't fault any. Need to get hold of the originals. They've been blocked on YouTube.

Just found this on iplayer. The Fabric of Britain. 3 episodes. Knitting, Wallpaper and Embroidery .
Very interesting

Nannytopsy Thu 02-Jul-20 17:10:32

Has anyone been watching Hidden on iPlayer. Its partly in Welsh but subtitled. Very atmospheric! We shall finish the second series tonight.

BBbevan Thu 02-Jul-20 18:36:41

Saw ‘Hidden’ the first time round. Love those gloomy Welsh dramas

Nannytopsy Thu 02-Jul-20 19:58:38

There’s a lot of pretty bad language, if you are easily offended ...

Puzzler61 Thu 02-Jul-20 20:02:47

Just loved “Marvellous” last night and have not seen it before,
I recommended to my sister to watch it as she missed it.

Jane43 Fri 03-Jul-20 17:33:16

Woodmouse49 some of the original Talking Heads are on dailymotion.com

Eloethan Fri 03-Jul-20 23:02:35

Has anyone watched the "Unprecedented* series of short plays, performed in a similar way to "Staged", available on BBC IPlayer?

I thought I'd give it a go this evening and was very impressed. Some really great acting.

WOODMOUSE49 Sat 04-Jul-20 12:45:35

Thank you Jane43.

Looking for a recommendation for tonight. I have NETFLIX and can access all catch up channels.

No factual /documentaries. I love those but fancy a bit of intrigue or a good laugh.

Auntieflo Sat 04-Jul-20 19:11:51

Thank you BBbevan, I have just watched Fabric of Britain, Knitting .
Just caught it in time, as it expires today.

Even DH said it was interesting, and I will try to watch the other two.

travelsafar Sun 05-Jul-20 09:47:38

I watched Fabric of Britain too. Really enjoyed the one about knitting, hoping to watch the embroidery one later today before it expires.

We watched October Sky on Netflix yesterday (getting a bit desperate as we are shielded!). It is based on the true story of an American schoolboy who who wanted to launch a rocket. The start isn't too promising but it is worth a watch. I told my daughters about it but warned that it may not be suitable for my 11 year old GS as the boys are old enough to want to get a 'legover'!

merlotgran Sun 05-Jul-20 13:07:50

Had a 'bubble visit' from DD and DSiL yesterday. They stayed the night in our caravan. Despite the blustery weather it was a huge success and social distancing was easy.

Boy, am I tired today though. These kinds of visits are a lot more work!

So, tonight I'm going to indulge in watching the first episode of The Durrells again, followed by Maigret. Pure bliss! DH will be watching Formula 1. I can't think of anything more boring. grin

Purplepixie Sun 05-Jul-20 13:14:02

The Durrells then Maigret with a cuppa and a cake!

Dollymc2 Sun 05-Jul-20 22:20:11

tanith, thank you for the recommendation. We watched Marvellous tonight. So inspiring and heartwarming
Lou Macari though ?
I'm also unsurprised by Gary Linaker's generosity, he's one of the good guys
Thanks again, although I'll need to replenish my box of tissues ?

Eloethan Mon 06-Jul-20 00:49:40

I watched "Making a Murderer" on Netflix. It has so far been intriguing and engaging but it looks like it's another one of those that goes on and on - and then there is no real resolution.

So I'm not sure if I have enough stamina or interest to continue watching.

TerriBull Mon 06-Jul-20 08:19:52

We watched "Knives Out" featuring an ensemble cast lead by Daniel Craig cast as the sleuth with a southern American accent, or that's what it sounded like to me. The various roles played tongue in cheek, unfolding in a Colonel Mustard manner. Ok for a Saturday night.

The Luminaries last night, I'm not terribly interested in it having read the book and not liking that very much, my husband is enjoying it however.

namo Mon 06-Jul-20 08:38:23

I recently discovered “The Heights” on BBC iplayer. Australian soap opera with humour in it, and interesting varied characters. I’ve now watched all 15 episodes. I think it’s best to start from the first episode to make sense of it. No nastiness in it. Thoroughly recommend it.

mary51 Mon 06-Jul-20 19:46:21

I wish I had known about Knives Out. I missed it when on in cinema!

GrannyGravy13 Mon 06-Jul-20 20:41:13

Hamilton the 2016 New York Production on Disney + cannot wait to see it in a theatre sometime soon, absolutely brilliant.

TerriBull Mon 06-Jul-20 20:44:05

mary sorry I should have explained, it wasn't on the tv, I subscribe to one of those cds through the post organisations, Cinema Paradiso to be precise. You didn't miss it, hopefully it will be on tv before too long and you can see it then.
