We're making some noise!

Come and join us. No wellies required. Bring your own wine.

We thought we'd better stop hogging the 'What are you watching tonight?' thread. grin

Lets dance for fear this night is all........

dunno seems pertinent somehow

Nortsat Sun 28-Jun-20 23:24:40

It’s so hard to believe he’s gone ...

Kate1949 Sun 28-Jun-20 23:24:45

It's the feeling you get when you leave a concert (if anyone uses that word now) a gig? a show? Hyper, excited, lovely.

Namsnanny Sun 28-Jun-20 23:24:59

Awww merlotgran, she knows you well smile

It's been under wraps for so many years.

What a treat in such trying times.

MissAdventure Sun 28-Jun-20 23:27:52

It is, Nortsat
He looks so vital and full of life.

James Hall in The Telegraph:

"Bowie planned a long Glastonbury set stretching into the small hours of the morning (his contract only stipulated that he play a minimum of 90 minutes). However, a week into rehearsals his UK-based production manager gave him the “crap” news that if he broke the festival’s pre-midnight curfew, Eavis would be fined £20,000 a minute. Bowie faced the “hopeless task” of having to ditch 12 songs."

Brilliant nevertheless. Thanks BBC.

Yes Kate1949, and just on adrenaline! smile

I will now enjoy watching Ed Sheeran for lots of reasons.

Thinking of my lovely DGS3 who looks just like him and is now living in Northern Ireland.

Castle on the Hill makes me cry because we all love Framlingham.

Happy tears though.

MissAdventure Sun 28-Jun-20 23:37:35

smile
Happy days.

twiglet77 Sun 28-Jun-20 23:42:45

I don't 'get' Ed Sheeran at all. My daughters saw him at Wembley and were fairly underwhelmed, not that they were fans particularly but I do think he's better on recordings than as a live act. It's Sky Arts for me now, Noel Gallagher and High Flying Birds from the Isle of Wight. I should have been seeing them at Thetford 10 days ago sad

MissAdventure Sun 28-Jun-20 23:42:51

He is good!
I'm surprised: I've always been dismissive of him. Something else I've learnt.

merlotgran Sun 28-Jun-20 23:44:50

I've always liked him. He's a local (ish) lad and so talented.

Namsnanny Sun 28-Jun-20 23:55:23

It's so easy to let 'newer younger' artist pass you by, especially if there are no 'young' people to introduce you to them.

Lots of brilliant talented musicians out there, and they're all having a pretty bad time of it as they can't play live!

I cant wait until I can catch up with some of them.

Enjoy your bitter sweet memories merlotgran

MissAdventure Sun 28-Jun-20 23:56:22

His music is quite "folksy" sounding. It's lovely and lilting.

MissAdventure Sun 28-Jun-20 23:59:09

I'll look up High Flying Birds, too.

merlotgran Mon 29-Jun-20 00:07:24

I would never have thought an act like Ed Sheeran's could close Glastonbury but he has such presence and the crowds love him and know all his songs. Nothing like a good sing song at the end of the day.

Namsnanny Mon 29-Jun-20 00:08:18

One of my sons fav.

MissAdventure Mon 29-Jun-20 00:19:16

My daughter loved him, and my older grandson does, too.

I was late to the party last night but loved David Bowie. But I couldn’t help feeling sad as well ... ?
