Was I the only one who liked the talented Mr Ripley?
Or have I missed its rating?

Hithere Sat 02-Jan-21 14:57:56

For that specific entry, yes, it was only mentioned once

However, if somebody had mentioned "all Matt damon movies", it is not part of the count for your pick, I hope it makes sense.

Brilliant compilation Hithere

Well done - that is not a random sample of moviegoers but still very interesting.

I forgot Tea with Mussolini. With such a stellar cast it had to be brilliant!

The Quiet American (from the Graham Greene novel) was brilliant - I’d happily watch that again.

There are several that I thought brilliant but wouldn’t choose to see again, because they’re too sad or poignant - especially if true stories, e.g. Schindler’s List.

There was a brilliant TV docu-drama a couple of years ago, about Rudolf Nureyev and his ultimate defection. Did anyone else see it? The young actor they got to play RN was astonishing - so amazingly like him. And it certainly brought back the Cold War shivers familiar to anyone old enough to remember.
I’m very glad I recorded it - have re watched more than once.
I think it was Beeb but can’t be sure.
