Hooray! I like this as a 2nd best to Strictly. Don't like Holly & Phil but have to tolerate them to enjoy the skating.

Yep, Bez was indeed the comic act and I appreciated him in that role. However to vote him in over Ria is utterly ridiculous and hurtful to her. I'm off.

There is an audience in this series vickymeldrew but I get DOI isn’t for everyone.
Being a Strictly fan it has a bit of interest in with Brendan who was brilliant. Also interesting seeing Oti on the other side as a judge. Having said that I can just dip in and out watching the bits of interest. Yes the skate off result was a strange one!

DoI is not just about getting novices to be able to skate, it's also an entertainment programme. And a personality programme. I'm sure Bez will be in for a few weeks yet. He was funny. People like him. They voted for him.

Not many people know Ria. She certainly didn't deserve to be in the skate off but she just isn't as well known a celebrity

sally dynevor from corrie done very well. she is 58 too.

Bez has tested positive for covid so things will be disrupted

Zoejory Mon 17-Jan-22 22:56:02

Bez testing positive will probably not cause too much trouble.

Only 5 days for isolating and he's not due to skate this coming Sunday

Of course he'll miss some practicing but I doubt that will affect him

Rachel Stevens pulled out now due to injury. can the show go on?

Sparklefizz Wed 19-Jan-22 10:21:10

Oh no! I won't miss Bez but poor Rachel .....

TillyTrotter Wed 19-Jan-22 10:28:21

There will be someone to step in for poor Rachel I’m sure.

TillyTrotter Wed 19-Jan-22 10:30:37

Oh I’ve just read she will rest and return (hopefully).

Rachel Stevens pulled out now due to injury. can the show go on?

It carried on last year whilst people had two weeks out isolating due to Covid along with resting injuries.

Anyone watch tonight?

Steph's fall during rehearsals looked awful. She was brave to carry on.

Connor was good, I thought, and Regan was excellent.

TillyTrotter Sun 23-Jan-22 20:17:54

I missed it Sparklefizz , although I know who left the show.
I’ll try and watch the show on catch-up TV tomorrow.
I don’t know who Connor or Regan are (feeling old!!).

EllanVannin Sun 23-Jan-22 20:29:39

I watched it on and off.
Regan is the son of Paul Gascoigne TillyTrotter. Some good skating.

Zoejory Sun 23-Jan-22 20:32:29

Regan was excellent.

Almost as good as Ray Quinn who has to be the best winner of DoI ever smile

Sweetpeasue Sun 23-Jan-22 21:11:14

I watched Sparklefizz .I had to record some of it and fast forward through ads.
I too thought Regan was much better than the rest. Confident on the ice but also his dance training made him by far the best tonight.
It will be interesting to see him perform again.
Brendan and Regan, ones to watch for me.

TillyTrotter Sun 23-Jan-22 21:17:20

Oh thanks. I know who Gazza is.

gillgran Sun 23-Jan-22 21:29:38

Yes, I watched it tonight, always have enjoyed Dancing on Ice.

I'm a great fan of Torville & Dean, I admire how good they still are.
Also love to watch the pro.,skaters.

Sweetpeasue Sun 23-Jan-22 22:05:51

Loved watching Torvill and Dean's performance.
Never miss any Olympic or World ice dance competitions if on mainstream TV.

Hellogirl1 Sun 23-Jan-22 22:34:35

Gazza doesn`t look too good, does he?

annodomini Sun 23-Jan-22 23:16:30

Yes, Hellogirl, Gazza really shows the effects of wear and tear! Regan isn't exactly a chip off the old block, is he? His dance training was put to good effect.

Sparklefizz Mon 24-Jan-22 08:14:49

So many ad breaks during the programme, and an overload of Schofield sad

Sparklefizz Mon 24-Jan-22 08:17:33

Almost as good as Ray Quinn who has to be the best winner of DoI ever

Ray Quinn was amazing, wasn't he - totally fearless on the ice. Hard to believe that he has now gone into his family's carpet business according to the news online. Maybe it's just during the pandemic and not a permanent job.

TillyTrotter Mon 24-Jan-22 09:08:43

Oh that would be a shame!
I saw Ray Quinn in a theatre show in Birmingham just before Covid times and he was as enigmatic as ever.
Such energy, and a boyish charm. He seems the sort of person who would succeed at whatever he did.

Sparklefizz Sun 30-Jan-22 19:37:09

Anyone watching tonight? Thought Kimberley at the start was over-marked. Can't believe her performance gained more marks than Brendan's or Regan's, both of whom were brilliant.

Brendan and Regan are exciting to watch.

Hope Bez doesn't get through because that means someone good has to go home, and honestly, he is a joke, bless him.
