Here we go again!! Bez is through and takes a place that should have gone to either Rachel or Ria. Don't know why I bother to watch it.
Loved Brendan and Regan.
WORD ASSOCIATION - 9th May 2026
Hooray! I like this as a 2nd best to Strictly. Don't like Holly & Phil but have to tolerate them to enjoy the skating.
Here we go again!! Bez is through and takes a place that should have gone to either Rachel or Ria. Don't know why I bother to watch it.
Loved Brendan and Regan.
I suppose, lavendermine that it is primarily an entertainment show, and at the moment, Bez is "watch through your fingers" entertaining, and will be kept in for that reason.
I am very impressed by Brendan Cole, the Strictly professional. Yes, he is a dancer so probably has an edge over the others in terms of moving his body and presenting his partner BUT he still had to learn to skate. Same with James Jordan the other year. He could barely stand on the ice when he first started, but he had that dancer's commitment to practice, and went on to win.
I don't think Bez will be out for a few weeks yet, even if he is by far and away the worst skater in the cast this year.
We gave up tonight, just can’t understand the marks - I know how to skate and the judges are not marking spins and jumps. Is this because Torvil and Dean are dance skaters? Never watched before so don’t know if this strange marking is normal. They need Craig!
Tizliz I'm glad it wasn't just me not understanding the marks ... and you clearly have much more experience than I do.
Ashley's marks have been suspect in previous DoI series. I think the problem is that only T&D are skaters, the other 2 judges are dancers and look for different things.
I think it will be between Brendan and Regan, both trained dancers and neither had been on ice before although I think Gazza said he took Regan ice skating at the age of 4.
I have no idea who the person eliminated was but she should not have been in the dance-off.
Bez has worked very hard, did not fall and could skate by himself-100% improvement and he is not in his first flush of youth.
There are too many ads but I appreciate the programme has to be paid for.
Anyone ever watched the world's best skaters who compete at Olympics ? They knock Torvill and Dean into a cocked hat.
Someone mentioned Ray Quinn, who was marvellous as was Jake Quickenden in 2018. Both fast skaters and confident too.
( I could have choked that screaming woman in the audience ) I had to keep turning the sound down after every introduction in case she kicked-off again.

I do EllanVannin Every time, as much as is covered on mainstream channels. I loved Torvill and Dean back in their prime. But professional ice skating is certainly a higher standard these days.
I can't watch the full DOI programme. Too many ads and most celebrities can't reach a high enough standard for me to be interested.
Lovely to see Brendan and Regan though.
Sweetpeasue, the German ice-skaters Aljona Savchenko and Bruno Massot are a sight to behold in the 2018 Olympics.
From next weekend, we'll have the Winter Olympics to enjoy. I love watching the intricacies of top level ice skating. That and the six nations rugby. My cup runneth over!
EllanVannin Brilliant! Going back a bit do you remember Marina Anissina( abundant red hair) and Gwendal Peizerat, French-Russian Olympic champions in 2002. Breathtaking.

But Torvill and Dean are now in their 60s!
The marking is nothing to do with professional skaters. This is a light entertainment show where the likes of Bez will do well because he is liked.
Ray Quinn was the best. He's worked in the entertainment field since the show. Often on cruise ships. When the pandemic he was basically left jobless and got no furlough so he did some courier driving and helping his father out.
Were any of you skaters? I grew up skating everday in winter- both at our artificial rink and some of our lakes. Loved it. Was good a speed, and did train in figure skating, but was never particularly good. I used to take our girls skating at Nottingham regularly.
'Were any of you skaters?'
In my dreams Kali2
How wonderful to be able to skate like that Kali.
As I've said before, I'm a great fan of Dancing on Ice, always watch & enjoy.
Did any of you notice that when Holly spoke to Regan's parents that Gazza said he first took Regan ice skating when he was 4 years old, & that he was good then..!!
If I heard right, that gives Regan an advantage, being able to skate as well as dance, do you think?
Anyone watching tonight? I feel it should have been Sally and Bez in the skate off. I get cross when good people have to leave when they shouldn't.
I voted for Regan, Brendan, Kimberley and Stef (I always vote for her because I so admire her for doing it with only one leg! She's amazing)
Loved seeing Regan's, Brendan's and Kimberley's dancing - couldn't take my eyes off each of them.
Sally's skating is way behind the others.
Sparklefizz I agree that Sally's skating is not at the same level as most of the others but a lot of them are half her age, she is 58. I do admire her for what she has managed so far.
I agree, Sally and Bez should have been in the skate-off but I wanted Bez to stay for the entertainment factor.
I did not realise Kimberly is a trained dancer.
Yes Charleygirl Sally is brave to take part, but I don't find her very exciting to watch, and it's disappointing when good skaters have to leave. Rachel was in Strictly and is a lovely dancer so I'm sure she would have had more to give.
I didn't know that Kimberley is a trained dancer too, but as a pop star I suppose it's very likely. The judges keep repeating that being able to dance is not the same as being able to skate.
The standard this year is very high. I thought seeing the Argentine Tango on ice was terrific.
I agree that dancing is not the same as skating but the arm and head movements one is taught are never forgotten and they can make all the difference.
I just wish there were not so many ads.
Super show tonight, I thought the skate at the end by the professionals was wonderful. It brought tears to my eyes.
Yes, Bez should have been in the skate off (again) its a real shame when this happens and good contestants have to leave. It always makes me think of Adam Peatty in Strictly, I have never quite got over that!
Sally is doing very well, but I agree, her skating isn't the best but I admire her.
The voters got it right this week, putting the 2 weakest skaters in the skate off.
Although Bez did well to skate on his own, the judges had to choose to save Sally.
Roll on props week next Sunday.
Yes, glad that Bez has gone. I thought the judges in their marks and comments made it clear that his time had come.
Sally will probably have to leave next week as she still can't really skate on her own. Those two children in her skating set could skate better than Sally!
Everyone else has upped their game. I'm always full of admiration for Stef who is doing it all on just one leg.
It was great to see Arlene. I really miss her from Strictly.
Right result this week.
I agree Sparklefizz about Stef she’s such an inspiration.
Loved Brendan and Brendan. Just a perfect twosome for the Jersey Boys.
Has anyone watched this this evening? Some excellent skating, plus the always nerve-shredding headbanger from Stef. Eeeek!
Yes, I watched it. Thought it was very good, especially the headbanger from Stef (brave young lady). Loved Brendan's routine, for some reason it reduced me to tears.
Sorry to see Sally go, although it was the right time.
