Did anyone else watch it?
Is anyone else confused?

The usual slightly dark, sometimes mumbled BBC production but spotting places we know was more interesting.

Be just watched Ep.2. I think it’s a good drama. I really like the actress who played Princess Anne in The Crown. She has a strong face and I like her voice.

The answer to your No.4 question Calli remember she opened a letter from her bank? It was a successful application for a £5k overdraft.

Callistemon21 Mon 07-Feb-22 22:14:04

Yes, the approval for the loan arrived tonight in episode 2.

I'm beginning to get it but I bet there's more than one twist to the story.

Callistemon21 Mon 07-Feb-22 22:16:41

Bignanny2

I’m going to give Chloe another episode before I decide mainly because I quite fancy Brandon Michael Hall who plays Josh and I want to see if that relationship develops, but other than that it was a bit slow and confusing.

No, Jack Farthing please

As a SIL I mean, of course! ?

Callistemon21 Mon 07-Feb-22 22:19:41

I'm confusing myself, BigNanny2, thinking Josh was Elliott or vice versa iyswim.

Bellanonna Mon 07-Feb-22 22:59:34

I suppose we will get to work out all those aliases eventually.
I remember her as Princess Anne now - lovely smile.

I too wondered about all those very expensive clothes. I must have missed the bit about the bank draft.

I’m intrigued enough to keep watching. I gave up on Trigger Point and I’m glad I did,

I’m sure I saw that it was a Pay Day Loan, much higher interest rate than an overdraft.

I started watching it on BBC IPlayer last night and am really enjoying it. We watched three of the six episodes and are planning to watch the last six tonight. They are all on IPlayer now.

I am finding it very intriguing and would have carried on watching last night if it hadn't been way past my bedtimegrin

My DH, who doesn't generally like British drama, also enjoyed it.

As others have said, it was a bit mumbly at times. We just turned the volume up as I find subtitles a bit distracting.

Looking forward to the last three episodes tonight.

I think that she was trying to find out what had happened to her friend by infiltrating her friends social circle, but she was such an awful character, so hard to like because she manipulated them so easily. I debated whether she could have fooled everyone so well but she did seem to have an answer for everything.
I also watched The Teacher which I thought was good but found it unconvincing in the end that she wouldn't want to clear her name.

I got bored and switched off.

Keep with it. I am up to episode 5 and hooked!!!

GrammaH Tue 08-Feb-22 11:10:30

I'm finding it intriguing though I'm still wondering about why she put wee into the whisky decanter, or did I imagine that? I mentioned it to a friend who'd been watching & she didn't remember that bit! It was about half way through episode 1. I'm assuming she steals clothes - she obviously nicked that beautiful flowery coat off the coat peg in the office in episode one and her gymn top and that flowery dress she wore to the party both had labels in. She'd either stolen them or was hoping to take them back. I'm hoping to hold out til Sunday for the next episode but feel a binge coming on...

Chloe: don't be so impatient, wait and see. I don't yet know what the mystery is - it had better be good though and it will be I hope !! All the grumbly Gransnetters are sounding like the teenage instant gratification age group - sometimes wait and see and concentrate is not a bad way to be - all will be revealed in due course. I'll be there watching it next Sunday evening I hope as I have no idea yet what's going on !

Urmstongran Tue 08-Feb-22 11:19:19

It just gets better. More to it than the first episode indicated. Himself would hate it. All the references to Insta and likes, then clicking into another person’s profile etc ?

Modern detection aids it seems.

Rude.

It's dark and mumbly for a start. A good book, film, TV series should grab your attention in the first chapter/episode so that you want more and to see the story evolve.

I shall continue watching.

I did wonder though if you let a complete stranger stay the night and heard a noise woudn't you at least turn on a light? Rather than getting down on the floor with them in the dark?

Callistemon21 Tue 08-Feb-22 12:00:27

They never run on lights, trisher!

Ther have been several dramas on TV recently where we've been left bewildered because people creep around a house in the dark, having head strange noises!

When my friend's DH heard strange noises in the night downstairs, he put on lights and yelled, telling his wife to phone the police (she was actually away). The burglars fled.

I suppose nowadays the burglars know the police don't turn up.

Callistemon21 Tue 08-Feb-22 12:00:44

turn not run!

Sorry about the typos.
My stylus has gone soft.

I’m a bit confused but also strangely intrigued - shall continue watching to see what develops.

coastalgran Tue 08-Feb-22 12:36:26

Is she trying to find out about Chloe's suicide and what led up to it, whether or not her posh friends had something to do with it or her husband and that is why she blags her way into their circle. It takes remarkable confidence to do what she is doing remember Mr Ripley with Leonardo di Caprio.

That made me laugh ?

mistymitts Tue 08-Feb-22 12:48:15

Maybe it will pull together. I found the first episode of ‘I will destroy you a bit baffling’ but by the end of the second episode I was riveted. I haven’t watched Chloe yet, but thanks for the heads up. Will give it a try later when I know that I won’t fall asleep!

Zoejory Tue 08-Feb-22 12:48:54

We watched the first 2 last night. We're going to watch the remaining episodes tonight.

I must admit it was a tad confusing but enjoyable with it.
