BlueBelle

Well top marks to the grans who had worked our Spiders job
I d have never got that in a hundred years
You are clever

Well I saw a program about it in real life, so not really so impressive!?
Poor Toyah, if she is pregnant she's in for a rough ride.

Namsnanny Mon 12-Sept-22 21:29:54

Yes Doodledog Craigie will have his work cut out. I'm surprised he didnt know about Spider.grin

Rosina Mon 12-Sept-22 22:04:23

I really didn't see that coming! Well done to those grans.

Maggiemaybe Tue 13-Sept-22 10:08:45

Well, I’ve surprised myself there - I didn’t think my ramblings would amount to anything! grin

Only just caught up with Corrie last night.

I thought Awful Aggie did her best ever acting when she was crying about James and his heart. She really looked the part of a distressed mother whose child had nearly died.

Of course, with her various skills, I was waiting for her to nip off and carry out James’ ‘procedure’ herself, maybe assisted by Doctor Gaddas?

In Corrieworld, who needs surgeons?

Rosina Wed 14-Sept-22 17:09:21

Presumably Toyah won't want any more to do with Spider given that he must be 'spying' on those who are protesting. His wife was almost enough for her to cut him out of her life - this will be just too much.

BlueBelle Wed 14-Sept-22 20:31:55

Spider has got the least detective looks aliky in the whole wide world

Namsnanny Fri 16-Sept-22 11:07:28

Did anyone hear the police woman call Spider Detective Inspector whe she met him?
Is there any chance, in Corrie underworld he can use his position to come to her rescue?
Or will they need to use the prison visiting room set again, as the carpenters have made a good job of it.?

Aveline Fri 16-Sept-22 12:45:16

The prison itself is very familiar. Oh well.

Probably, but it will mean he has to give up being a cop (thus restoring Craigie's rights to the role of Sole Cobbles Law Enforcer) and get a job sewing knickers or selling cooked food, like the rest of the residents. Who lives in Aunty Emily's house? Could he inherit that and take early retirement?

Calendargirl Fri 16-Sept-22 13:06:48

Well, Norris Cole bought Auntie Emily’s house, didn’t he?

Surely he didn’t leave it to the ghastly Freda? shock

I have watched Corrie all my life, but confess I have never got to grips with who lives where, unlike my sister, who knows that so and so lives at number 4, or somebody else has the flat over the corner shop…..

Doodledog Sat 17-Sept-22 08:10:34

Oh well, maybe he’ll just inherit the money. Police inspectors will get good pensions and can retire young, so he could give it up and be with Toyah.

The financial situations of Corrie residents are baffling anyway. Chesney and Gemma bring up 5 children on zero hours/minimum wage jobs, yet Ken was pushing trolleys despite having a teacher’s pension and living mortgage-free all his life. The only one with any money seems to be Rita, who writes so many large cheques to ungrateful foster children and ‘adopted’ neighbours that it’s a miracle she has any left. Oh, and Audrey, whose lovers and husbands either leave her money or swindle her out of it. Her son looks to be about to follow suit.

Aveline Sat 17-Sept-22 10:08:22

But Alfie didn't leave Audrey any money as he died a minute after midnight so his life insurance policy wouldn't pay out. Why do I remember this?!!
Good point though. Emily/Norris's house must be standing empty. Hmmm

Aveline Sat 17-Sept-22 10:10:48

Oops. Or is Ed and Aggie living in it now? Is that the one they did up next door to Ken? Incidentally, did Steve and Tracy not buy Ken's house? In which case is their old flat empty? Could Calendargirl please ask her sister?

BlueBelle Sat 17-Sept-22 10:11:16

How long has spider bee out of Corrie he’s done VERY well to become an inspector ???
Blimey most don’t make it after a life in the force

Charleygirl5 Sat 17-Sept-22 10:58:08

Maybe I misheard but I thought he was addressed as a detective constable. The sergeant who has been talking to him would not speak to him as she has been if he was a DI.

Do not forget there is an episode on Sunday evening at 7 pm but zilch on Monday.

Aveline Sat 17-Sept-22 11:03:52

I thought he was a detective constable too.

NotTooOld Sat 17-Sept-22 11:33:47

So who is DC (or possibly DI) Spider after? I reckon it could be Gary as part of the Kelly leaving the cobbles story.

Aveline Sat 17-Sept-22 12:43:52

Is he not just part of an undercover group looking at eco warriors?

Rosina Sun 18-Sept-22 21:26:17

On the subject of Ken's house; he didn't sell it to Steve and Tracey as he changed his mind, but at the time I did wonder how he could sell it at all. When Tracey was released from prison on a technicality, Ken had taken out all of the equity in his house to pay for her solicitor. I recall Dierdre begging him to do so. He commented that it felt odd not to own the house any longer. I do get annoyed when scriptwriters just 'leave' story lines if they are inconvenient.

He left her the house on Grasmere Drive and had bought her the salon though. She wasn't left penniless. Then there was Archie Shuttleworth and the Nigel Havers character, both of whom left or gave her money.

I'd forgotten about Ken remortgaging. He must have paid it all off by now, though - Tracey's stay at HM's pleasure was ages ago.

FleurBaladine Sun 18-Sept-22 23:12:06

Spider is only a detective constable.

FleurBaladine Sun 18-Sept-22 23:14:33

Is Spider after Griff? I didn’t know the polis still did this kind of undercover stuff.

Aveline Mon 19-Sept-22 15:31:58

Sean (Anthony Cotton) was at the Queen's funeral!
