Romesh Ranganathan the comedian has literally just been mentioned,he`s supposed to be a comedian,he`s never made me laugh.

This thread is a perfect example of how difficult it is to get a presenter who would please everyone.
I like Ms Robinson, don’t want Carol Vordermann, nor Romesh, nor Osman, nor Fry. Equally, not Mel or Sue or anyone else who seems to be on everything.
Victoria Coren-Mitchell is great on Only Connect, and would probably be good on Countdown. Since I can’t suggest anyone else who would do a good job, I’ll just have to wait and see.

The Countdown presenter isn't meant to be a comedian so maybe he'd be good at that.

I would like to see that nice Welsh weatherman, Owain Wyn Evans present Countdown, or any quiz programme.

Oh yes Owain is lovely. Romesh does The Weakest Link. He's a bit wooden.
There is an interview with Anne Robinson in one of the papers today. It sounds like she wanted everything her own way.
