I haven’t voted for anyone because I don’t vote in these sort of competitions/programmes, but I can quite easily see why people would vote for Matt opposed to some of the back stabbing people in there. Charlene comes to mind, horrible woman. And Sue, I was very disappointed in her. Then there was Chris, and even Mike had his moments. Boy George of course, and the list goes on. Matt never put a foot wrong, along with Owen, Jill, and Seann. I never blamed Matt for anything to do with the pandemic either, since as said before, we have collective government in this country, in other words, a cabinet taking collective responsibility, especially for the pandemic. They were taking advice from scientists and medics and they followed that advice. I have never signed up to the hate fest of Matt Hancock, nor the Matt Hancock killed granny school of thought. It rather shows a lack of critical thinking. So, obviously other people agree and think Matt has done rather well in the jungle.

Farzanah Sun 27-Nov-22 10:57:58

I think that using critical thinking, the pandemic is still very fresh in the bereaved families minds, and a sign of true leadership and responsibility is answering questions under oath to the Covid Enquiry which is taking place.
IMO it seems insensitive and inappropriate at this time to be appearing in a reality tv show for gain.

It's hard to believe Matt's still in. I was wondering who was voting for him...

I think it shows that the "people" aren't as hard on him as the Press. Whilst many will be cross that a serving MP is in the jungle, his mistakes as the Health Secretary were not his alone and I think many will see his affair with somebody he was actually working with was not the hanging offence for breaking the rules that the press made it out to be. You wouldn't condone it but you could understand it from a human perspective.
If I was going to vote though, it's Jill all the way. Owen is sweet but acting is luck of the draw whereas Jill had to fight for her right to play football from a young age. Hats off to her.
As for the abusive complaint about Sean, I bet his insecurities make him a bit of a chore to live with and his anxieties probably make him a bit controlling. If he was a woman, we'd probably be a little more understanding but as a man this often gets overlooked.

tickingbird Sun 27-Nov-22 11:53:14

He’s no doubt still in because his detractors can’t vote him out. It used to be that you voted for the person you wanted to leave but after they changed it to voting for who you want to stay, it would be extremely difficult to vote strategically to get someone out.

I have no sympathy for Seann and I would say the red flags are waving quite strongly still.

Smileless2012 Sun 27-Nov-22 13:34:17

Maybe Matt's still in because he did very well in all of his trials, hasn't been sticking the knife into anyone else and comes across as an OK bloke.

icanhandthemback Sun 27-Nov-22 13:49:24

One thing I did read was that a well known commentator about the Royals (who has speculated about many things regarding family feuds) was adamant that Zara would not show up for the Royals because the children were far more important. If they are so wrong about this, maybe they are wrong about so many things we read!

Joseanne Sun 27-Nov-22 13:56:18

That doesn't make sense icanhandthemback does it, because Zara is often away at horsey events without the children. Silly reporting.
However I did notice how brown Zara was, St. Tropez tan shade. Unless she has been sunbathing in Australia for a month?

I would not vote for Jill just because she has achieved more outside the programme, it's not really relevant to their time on the show as contestants. Just as Matt's mistakes as MP is not relevant to his time on the show. We should be taking each of them at face value according to their abilities and their attitudes to the trials and to each other.

I think the right three are in the final. I have enjoyed most of the show (not so much the dunking people in stinking offal — why?). Brits do tend to be fair and judge based on what they see and why not? I liked Matt and his focus, no wonder he was in government. I love Jill, she’s just a lovely person, as is Owen. I slightly favour Jill because of her attitude, she’s a cracking lass. I can’t believe that Aveline called her a gangly lass. Insulting in my book. I thought we were past body shaming.

icanhandthemback Sun 27-Nov-22 21:06:05

Chestnut, all 3 left behind have done well so you have to have something to hang your hat on!

Aveline Sun 27-Nov-22 21:17:05

I really don't care who wins tonight. None of them impress me much. Compared to last year's final three this lot are pretty disappointing. I'll watch just to enjoy Ant and Dec's links. They're always entertaining.

Sara1954 Sun 27-Nov-22 21:21:27

Aveline
Who were in the final last year, u cat remember?

Sara1954 Sun 27-Nov-22 21:21:43

I can’t remember

Sara1954 Sun 27-Nov-22 21:22:55

Still loving Jill, she’s my hero

Aveline Sun 27-Nov-22 21:31:18

Last year's finalists were Danny Miller, Simon Gregson, Frankie Bridge. The lovely David Ginola went out fourth. Danny won.

Zoejory Sun 27-Nov-22 21:31:44

I have to say Owen is doing very well with his eating challenge.

Aveline Sun 27-Nov-22 21:32:16

Ginola was fourth not out fourth

Zoejory Sun 27-Nov-22 21:33:35

Was the hugely irritating Mama G the year before? I didn't enjoy the Wales seasons very much at all.

Callistemon21 Sun 27-Nov-22 21:37:46

Well, I've never heard of any of them except David Ginola.
He's a footballer, of course. 🤔

But we've rarely watched it before.

Joseanne Sun 27-Nov-22 21:39:47

Matt with a toad on his head!

Sara1954 Sun 27-Nov-22 21:40:31

Poor Matt, that terrifyingly enormous spider on his head, as for poor Owen………….

tickingbird Sun 27-Nov-22 21:41:10

I must admit I lost interest after David Ginola went. He really is gorgeous smile

Aveline Sun 27-Nov-22 21:43:40

David was gorgeous and seemed to be a nice man too. I'd never heard of Danny before but he became my favourite. A lovely lad.
I agree about the irritating Mama G.

Callistemon21 Sun 27-Nov-22 21:43:47

Matt with a toad on his head!

I hope it was a frog and not a cane toad!
