Glad to see the back of Chris. Glad it’s dawned on him that someone who didn’t slag off others is more popular than someone who did.

Joseanne Thu 24-Nov-22 22:37:29

I agree LauraNorderr and didn't he say what we've all been thinking, that there's Matt Hancock and then there's Matt. Fair comment.

LauraNorderr Thu 24-Nov-22 22:50:27

I agree with what Maddyone said on the last thread, Matt Hancock was not personally responsible for the pandemic and was not singly responsible for decisions taken during that horrific time.
He had an affair, he didn’t advertise it, some spiteful member of Downing Street staff took photos and spread the word. Yes he hurt his wife and family, he’s not the first and sadly won’t be the last.
In my opinion the thing he did wrong was agree to go to Australia to take part in the programme, albeit to raise money for charity and to let people see the human side of politicians, when he should be in his constituency and in parliament dealing with the serious issues we all face here at home.
I do agree Joseanne that it is right to separate politics and the man when making judgement on character.

I’m also pleased to see the end of Chris.
He just came across as being petulant and pathetic.
His obsession with Matt was just boring.
I think it’s anyone’s game now, but if I had to put money on it, I’d say Owen.

Zoejory Thu 24-Nov-22 23:03:32

I really, really want to see Ant do some of these trials. Or is it Dec (never know which is which!).

They have done some of the trials, you can find them on YouTube. I think they do them mainly for the likes of Comic Relief etc etc

Took me years to work out which one was Ant and which was Dec. Then I thought that ants are usually small. But not this Ant! No, he's tall. Sounds nonsensical but works for me.

And yes, I'm pleased to see the back of Chris. Even though I loved him on Radio 1. Used to have me falling about laughing. Not sure where that guy went.

Not sure if they'll bother having any more active MPs on again. Causes too much bother.

Can’t make my mind up between Jill and Owen, both are brave, amusing and decent sorts. Then there’s Seann, a bit odd but, as Aveline has said, he is authentic, no game playing, no disciplined self control.
Mike is very disappointing, I expected him to be much more fun, I also find his cuddling of everyone a bit ott.
Must say I’m enjoying the show and love the follow up chat on here.

Grannynannywanny Thu 24-Nov-22 23:18:26

I really like Jill and Owen and hope they are the final 2. Both are deserving winners. I suppose it could be careful editing but Jill’s lovely smile is never far away and she can find the funny side of whatever comes up.

LadyGracie Thu 24-Nov-22 23:20:08

Seann has my 5 votes again, I wouldn't mind if Owen or Matt went next.
Even though Owen would be great in the cyclone.
My favourite trial yet to come. Yippee.

crazyH Thu 24-Nov-22 23:27:39

Jill to win - what a super girl !!!

Zoejory Thu 24-Nov-22 23:39:36

I agree that Mike has been disappointing. I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't this .

I'm guessing that Seann or Matt will go tomorrow. I don't really mind who wins. But if I had to bet on it I'd say Jill. I had thought Owen but now back to Jill. She's been a good egg throughout. No nasty chit chat. No bitching.

What will we do when it ends?!

maddyone Thu 24-Nov-22 23:55:39

Just glad Chris has gone at long last.

Sara1954 Fri 25-Nov-22 06:15:49

I expected to like Mike more than I did, I think his strong attachment to Sue put me off him a bit.

Joseanne Fri 25-Nov-22 07:56:23

So was Matt trying to distance himself ftom the decisions he took during covid or merely explaining that the Health Minister is a bit of a puppet who just delivers the rules based on the advice from the scientists? It sounded like he was trying to exonerate himself a bit by saying there is much discussion and research before The Minister actually delivers anything to the public, rightly so.
I did notice he said something about an important part of the job was having good interpersonal skills, which he is sort of exhibiting here in the jungle.
And why he always wore the pink tie!!
Fascinating how contrived these things are.

Smileless2012 Fri 25-Nov-22 09:04:36

TBF they weren't his decisions alone were they. We all know that the government was being advised by scientists and they didn't always agree with one another.

The pressure of standing at that podium day after day must have been immense. Yes, mistakes were made but they weren't his mistakes alone.

Glad Chris has gone, finding out he wasn't as popular as Matt really go to him didn't itgrin.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 25-Nov-22 10:03:39

Smileless2012 no need for me to post as you have said exactly what I think 👏👏👏

Sara1954 Fri 25-Nov-22 10:13:38

I too agree with Smileless, ridiculous to blame one man for everything. and who is to say anyone else would have done any better.

Galaxy Fri 25-Nov-22 10:26:59

Presumably the government advisors were against him breaking covid guidelines so I think that is his responsibility.

Joseanne Fri 25-Nov-22 10:34:12

I agree Smileless2012, and maddyone said it well in the previous thread. 👏 👏 👏
I think Matt was just cleverly spelling it out to all those who are a bit ignorant or hostile to him, because after all it is a popularity contest and he wants to get votes. They weren't his mistakes stone. Chris provided him with the best opportunity so far to explain this.
I noticed Jill chose Princess Diana as her deceased heroine which kind of surprised me.

Joseanne Fri 25-Nov-22 10:34:46

*stone alone

Callistemon21 Fri 25-Nov-22 10:46:30

They have done some of the trials, you can find them on YouTube. I think they do them mainly for the likes of Comic Relief etc etc

Thanks Zoejory
I shall look for them !!

Millie22 Fri 25-Nov-22 10:54:06

I agree too. You are right as the pressure was on and inevitably the decisions made at the time were not just down to Matt alone.

Poor Owen he just kept missing that postbox.

Aveline Fri 25-Nov-22 12:03:31

Chris is quite a changed man. His repeated failures at trials and being shown to be less popular than Matt Hancock look like they've really hit home.

avitorl Fri 25-Nov-22 21:04:45

It does seem like Chris's best bits may have been edited out as camp mates said he was funny and hilarious. What did they see that viewers didn't ?

Zoejory Fri 25-Nov-22 22:00:34

I read that a lot of Chris Moyles' stuff couldn't be shown. He was constantly making jokes about Ant and alcohol.

They seem to be more entertaining this evening. Maybe less is more. I'm liking Seann's Michael.McIntyre impression. Owen as David Attenborough was not bad at all either!

merlotgran Fri 25-Nov-22 22:11:46

I’m sorry Seann has gone. His self esteem was improving.
