Royals are dishonest about their funding, their environmentalism, what property they own, their meddling in politics, their own values and history of racism, their historic connection to slavery and empire and their function in the constitution. The monarchy is built in deceit.

If we got wind of a rumour about someone in our village/town, would we condemn them/spread unfounded rumours? I sincerely hope not!

If they made a Netflix film about their lives, then yes, they would leave themselves wide open to gossip!!

Just like the Kardashians, they are opening their lives to the world and cannot expect privacy thereafter.

As for Charles helping to fund their lifestyle here in the UK, I expect that was done as a gesture of love and quietly without fanfare.
To then complain in public when that funding ceased made Harry sound spoilt and entitled. A thankless child etc.

This is the crux of this debacle - people (and the media) making assumptions and using them for fuel for condemning H & M, who have become top of the scapegoat list.

Surely one of their major complaints was that they had been “cut off’ from Royal funding. So they must have expected funding to continue.

So the report was from 13 years ago and the incident happened 4 years before that.

When he was 21 years old, and had grown up in what appears to be a family which is riven with unconscious bias and doesn't understand racism. Apparently. Then was in the army, which at the time wasn't renown for its forward- thinking, "woke" attitudes.

I think, in the extreme stress of a war situation, seeing comrades' bodies strung up by the enemy, army personnel might say things they would not say in everyday life. If you haven't experienced that or know no-one who has, then it's difficult to judge.

However, Harry filmed himself saying these things sitting in an airport waiting to go on exercise in Cyprus. He was disciplined so, no, it is not acceptable in the army.

But there are people making assumptions on both sides. H&M are being roundly condemned by most it seems, although this is generally from their own words and their own media output. The RF are being condemned by some, who seem to have taken lies spun by The Crown and mixed them with lies spun by H&M to come out with all sorts of nonsense. As evidenced on this thread!

I just think that it’s rather rich, not to say hypocritical, ‘calling out’ racism (and being widely and loudly applauded for it - even getting an actual award for it) when you yourself have been over the coals for such behaviour.

And at what age is it forgivable for a well educated young chap to dress up as a Nazi for fun?

OK. Not allowed to change ones outlook on life then, and realise that as a young person you did and said things that you now know to be wholly unacceptable.

It was awful but he was a proper Hooray Henry, a total embarrassment.

He's rather like a born-again Christian now - he's seen the light and has to tell the whole world.
It might have more impact if he explained just when and how he changed his views.

He has 2 mixed race children. He'll have plenty of self-shame and regret over his idiocy.

I think Meghan has played right in Netflix’s hands.
It was mentioned in the beginning of negotiations that the £80 mil wouldn’t be payed up front and the contract would be reviewed in the new year.
Two directors left the set because they couldn’t work with Meghan. Then she took over the production.
Netflix could see it was a dead duck but let her carry on knowing the figures were going to be bad. When the review comes up they can present her with the figures and talk about money.

It doesn't seem odd to anyone that at one point in his life when he was young he thought that behaviour was OK surrounded by family and peers and after growing older and having different circles he now doesn't see that behaviour as ok?

Charles agreed to bankroll the Sussexes for 1 year, an agreement he kept to. The Queen agreed that they could return to the RF after one year if they wished to, and carry on as if nothing had happened. Both the Queen and Charles kept tbeir side of the agreement, which was more than generous. After one year the Sussexes decided not to return,so why should Charles or the Queen continue to bankroll them when that wasn't the arrangement? Harry is an adult, do what other adults do, get employment and pay for your own mansion and private jets, or cut your coat according to your cloth. Their choice, as adults.

V.S. Meghan rescued him and made him see the error of his ways . If anyone was a racist in the RF it was Harry. 'P... friend,' 'rag t...,, ' South African girlfriend, 'luckily not b....' and on it went!
