Do you think they are just too used their roles now Calendargirl and don't feel the need to make much effort.

I wonder if the chap who plays Steve McDonald let the praise for his comic timing go to his head and became too conscious of it and now overplays it.

I love Dev. I feel that "her with the face" is rather misunderstood, she seems to be falling for Aadi as her husband does not appreciate her brains and skills.

Could well be. Many of us get a bit jaded with our work after a long time.

Why should actors in soaps be any different, especially the likes of Dev and Steve, who have been part of Corrie in its long lost heyday?

They must read through some of the nonsensical scripts they are given nowadays, and just lose the will to live.

But hey ho, it’s still a job.

Haven't see Steve for ages. He's usually reliably funny. Dev is just, well, Dev. My Dev!

Dev's acting was comical tonight . I could have done better.

I can't understand Dev either. And Cassie is getting on my nerves. What has happened to Daniel? At least he speaks decent English. Stu is just stupid and the Eliza storyline is boring. Thank goodness Jasmeen has gone off to Pakistan at a moment's notice. I hope she doesn't come back in a hurry. Maureen Lipman is always good value (and a good actor) but her character is becoming unpleasant when it used to be funny. Corrie writers take note!

Yes, that's a good point about Evelyn. She used to be outspoken in the way that Blanche was, but has become quite nasty now.

I do wonder why I watch Coronation Street because I like so few- only Evelyn, Roy, Stu and Alya. Eliza to me is just a cheeky brat. I cannot stand Cassie, Dev, Courtney, Darren and Yasmeen to name a few.

What has happened to our Craigie or is he off on some course?

I will be pleased when Fiz comes back which should be soon as she had her baby a few months ago I believe.

Why doesn’t Stu report the dad blackmailing him to the police? Surely if he has a guardianship order she just can’t go and live with the Dad? Mind you, the way Eliza is shaping up Stu is best shot of her.

Many of them will claim top up benefits, but I don’t think people have to go and ‘sign on’ every week these days. If they showed every time people had to inform ’the social’ when they earned a bit more of would be very boring, plus it’s all so complicated that the writers would tie themselves in knots.

Corrie has always been a simple world where people on minimum wage have café breakfasts and old ladies go to the pub for a sweet sherry on their own. People take each other in at the drop of a hat and their tiny houses stretch to accommodate guests. It’s not remotely like real life (ditto the remarkable service from the police and NHS) but we suspend disbelief as it’s comforting to pretend that life is like that.

I’m sure that Roy said he would subsidise Lauren’s rent anyway - again improbable really - but how else would the character be able to stay on the cobbles?

And your GP does house calls at the drop of a hat! If you have to go to hospital you always get a room to yourself and you can have as many visitors as you like.🤣

My dear old Dad moved into a sheltered flat after my Mum died and he was becoming a bit frailer aged 90. He never lost his sense of humour. The sheltered housing was situated in a crescent along with a health centre and a few doors further along the Funeral Director. He used to joke his little street was as well set up as Coronation street and everything he needed to see him out was on his doorstep 😆

I would love to live in Coronation Street, the perfect place.Also everyone seems to have plenty of money, cafe meals everyday, a nice quiet pub where you get served instantly, a spotlessly clean garage, 24 hour baby minders( even for quads), houses instantly available, and a job whenever you want it.
Also above instant job has hours to suit you and long meal breaks, plus two solicitors always available, GP no appointment needed just walk in and get seen straight away
The perfect life.
As well as being to live near your ex and carry on as if nothing happened.

All that is true pinkprincess but you would also have to accept that you would have a very high chance of coming to a grisly end before too long!!

The big downside is that numerous neighbours would move in with you before you could boil the kettle .
