Is anyone still listening or have you given up?

Gransnet said it first! Rochelle is an animal rights undercover agent!

Just what I was about to say!

merlotgran Thu 17-Apr-25 19:55:34

Sounds like she’s being coerced into doing it by Saskia and her gang.

I wonder why?

eGJ Mon 21-Apr-25 19:15:56

Workers at the abattoir were getting double pay. Why was Rochelle not working? Things don’t look good for Freddie or Rochelle going forward do they?

eGJ Tue 22-Apr-25 19:14:25

I’ve got confused about Sakia, so looked her up! Joy is glad Rochelle is meeting up with friends but Saskia has invited her over to plan. This is what I found out.
“Saskia is linked to an animal rights activist group and appears to hold a leadership role, working closely with Rochelle Horville. She made her first appearance on 17 April 2025, calling Rochelle to commend her for planting a hidden camera inside the Casey Meats abattoir. Although the footage was cut short when the camera stopped recording, Saskia was undeterred—urging Rochelle to try again and capture footage of the slaughter process.

Saskia also alluded that it had been four months since Rochelle was forced out of a communal living situation. The undercover work at the abbotoir appears to be Rochelle's attempts to make amends and seek a way back.”

I wonder ... does anyone else think that maybe Helen and Rex .... (when he's got Rochelle out of his system, obvs)?

Galaxy Thu 24-Apr-25 21:10:19

I always thought Rex and Kirsty would end up together. I feel Rex is a bit lost as a character.

merlotgran Thu 24-Apr-25 21:16:11

So Leonard and Joy are going up Lakey Hill?

Ooo er, Missus as Maw once suggested. 😂😂

I really hope not!
Poor Rex!

Scribbles Fri 25-Apr-25 13:04:39

Exactly, NotSpaghetti!. The poor chap has been a sad loser ever since his introduction to the village. I had a sudden mental image of him, 30 years from now, a wispy, insignificant little man in a shabby cardigan, in thrall to Horrible Helen and forever trailing in her wake, saying , "yes, dear" when required but otherwise keeping quiet ....

Delila Thu 01-May-25 19:16:57

Ooo-err missis!

eGJ Thu 01-May-25 19:17:37

We knew it was coming, but do we need this publicity for plant based diets? Rochelle has a lot to answer for !

Delila Thu 01-May-25 19:25:39

Oh dear - the worst-possible publicity.

Delila Thu 01-May-25 19:45:13

I don’t want to give away any spoilers but gosh! Definitely one of those Archers “moments”…..

merlotgran Thu 01-May-25 20:11:55

A good storyline at last.

NotSpaghetti Thu 01-May-25 21:05:52

Mmmn..maybe an interesting storyline but badly scripted and not very well acted.
😠

Delila Thu 01-May-25 21:29:41

I agree.

Scribbles Thu 08-May-25 19:23:54

Didn't see that coming - although I probably should have.

merlotgran Thu 08-May-25 21:35:49

Now await the fall out from the Will!

There’s bound to be something that sets Hilda amongst the pigeons.

Rochelle is the adult personification of the spotty, geeky kid who is forever destined to be on the fringes of 'the gang' - outside looking in.
They so much want to be in the gang that they'll do ANYTHING to please the hierarchy in the hope of an invite.

My neighbour's grandson fell into this trap - a cliquè of Big Boys told him to go shoplifting for them to prove he was "worthy".........he stupidly did and inevitably got caught.

I ask you!

Hmmm. I wonder if Peggy's will contains some surprises? There are Tom and Nocasha, in his words, mortgaged up to the hilt and daydreaming about professional landscaping; scrapping Lee's horrible playhouse to replace it with one they prefer before going back to bed.

We all know what a public going-back-to-bed leads to in Ambridge, don't we? I'm getting ready to laugh my head off when the inheritance from Peggy is minuscule; the tea room business is bankrupt and the house is re-possessed.

I bet she leaves all her money to Reform.

RosieandherMaw Mon 12-May-25 16:53:25

Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought Lawrence was the rather sweet “gentleman” friend of Jill Archer, not the pompous racist ultra-posh lecher who propositioned Lynda Snell?
Or have I got the wrong chap?
I read once that there always has to be a “baddie” /wrong ‘un even if it involves a complete personality change (eg
the youthful Sid Perks, young, George Grundy, Brian Aldridge to name just 3)

RosieandherMaw Mon 12-May-25 16:54:37

Ah, just realised i was confusing Leonard with Lawrence
Sorry!

eGJ Mon 12-May-25 17:36:06

Didn’t Peggy distribute her legacy some time ago? I remember the window for St Stephen’s and I may be wrong the Rewilding as well. May have misremembered it all. Most care homes give people more time to clear rooms and what we have heard from The Laurels over the years this “clear the room in 24 hours”seems quite unlikely how they have behaved before !

merlotgran Mon 12-May-25 17:51:36

I thought Peggy was paying Auntie Chris’s fees at the Laurels as well as her own or did that come to an end?
