The old one is getting full, so here’s a nice shiny new one.

Where is Lauren? What is Dee Dee’s chap up to? Is Kit a villainous baddie or a force for good? Do we care?

Post your predictions and observations here (no spoilers please).

Oh, poor Billy.

And the gorgeous Roberta Flack song at the end.

😥

That was so sad but so well done sad

Exactly that. I hope the Paul actor gets an award.

Charleygirl5 Tue 10-Sept-24 07:42:39

Tomorrow, Wednesday's episode has been cancelled- will it be shown on Thursday does anybody know?

Doodledog Tue 10-Sept-24 07:47:14

No, according to my planner, Thursday has an hour-long Emmerdale.

Grannynannywanny Tue 10-Sept-24 08:51:50

Such a sad episode. Great acting especially from Paul and Bernie. I was disappointed they rushed Paul off to hospital when he was at the final stage of a cruel terminal illness.

I was hoping they’d tuck him in to his comfy bed with his oxygen mask and sit with him. Dr Gaddas could have attended if he needed pain relief or any other drugs.

I hope Billy doesn’t find out Paul had already slipped away before he said his goodbye. Can we rely on Gemma to keep that secret? 🤔

Beechnut Tue 10-Sept-24 09:05:10

I have read there are only two episodes this week. Last nights and Friday.
I think they’ll keep it a secret. They’ve nothing to gain by telling Billy.

Lisaangel10 Tue 10-Sept-24 09:24:42

I agree. The actor who plays Paul (Apollo) should definitely get an award. Brilliant acting.

Beechnut Tue 10-Sept-24 09:46:39

I hope he does too and then we can see his lovely smile again.

BlueBelle Thu 12-Sept-24 07:52:45

I think they did really well in letting him go before Billy got there this happens so much in real life It happened to me once and nearly twice you never get over it Bernie did well to let Billy think he spoke to him
Where was Todd in all this ???

Doodledog Thu 12-Sept-24 08:09:27

Good points all round BlueBelle. I don’t know where Todd is, but he’ll be organising the funeral when the time comes, I expect. That will be another gruelling episode.

sodapop Thu 12-Sept-24 09:02:15

Very sad episode but so well played. I thought Bernie in particular was very touching. I hope the MND charity gets lots more support after this.

Grannynannywanny Thu 12-Sept-24 09:40:26

Lovely to see Paul receive a well deserved award last night at the TV awards ceremony. He spoke eloquently and encouraged the public to support the MND society.

I almost didn’t recognise Gemma. She looked lovely.

Doodledog Thu 12-Sept-24 20:05:35

Oh, I'm pleased to hear that. I don't watch award ceremonies as a rule, but I'll see if that is on YouTube or somewhere, as I'd like to see him get the credit he deserves.

Grannynannywanny Thu 12-Sept-24 23:14:27

Here’s a clip of Paul receiving his award last night.

I hope we see more of Paul (don’t know his real name) in other productions now he’s left Corrie.

Doodledog Fri 13-Sept-24 05:09:01

Thanks GNW.

He really seemed happy didn’t he? I agree with maddie. I hope his career takes off.

Grannynannywanny Fri 13-Sept-24 21:02:58

I thought Billy was going to overhear them telling Todd that Paul had already slipped away before his phone farewell. It’s only a matter of time.

Doodledog Fri 13-Sept-24 21:26:10

I'm sure Paul knew that Billy loved him. He didn't have to be there at the end for that to be true.

maddyone Fri 13-Sept-24 23:14:21

No, you’re right Doodledog, but I fear that they’re going to drag this one out and eventually Billy will find out he was lied to, and WW3 will erupt, which is not what I want to see. I’d prefer a dignified and supportive time for the whole family, deciding on the funeral together and recognising each other’s grief. I really don’t want to watch a huge drama about such a sensitive issue.

I missed both my parent’s last moments. I’ll always feel guilty about it. I don’t want to be reminded of it. There were good reasons in both cases, but I still feel guilty.

BlueBelle Fri 13-Sept-24 23:27:41

I totally understand Maddy I sat with my Nan most of the day the kids asked me to do something I was gone about half an hour but when I went back her breathing had stopped I have never really forgiven myself With my mum I d spent 24 hours in the Emergency room my daughter came to take over and sent me to get a shower and change of clothes as I got back she said come quick and I just made the last five minutes, and with my Dad I was with him but in such shock I sat watching his breathing and never held his hand or put an arm round him and beat myself up about that so I think it was very realistic that Billy missed the last moments and added to the scene

Doodledog Fri 13-Sept-24 23:32:22

I also think that Billy's feelings are realistic, unfortunately. In some ways my post was to try to make anyone who found themselves in that position feel better.

My father died a week after going into hospital, and we all thought he would come out again. I did see him the day before he died, but wasn't there at the time. My mum was there, but could just as easily not have been, as we were taking turns.

Nobody needs to beat themselves up about these things. flowers

Doodledog Fri 13-Sept-24 23:32:54

The flowers are sincerely meant to all who need them. x

maddyone Sat 14-Sept-24 11:44:15

Just reading these posts has made me cry. Thank you Doodledog and Bluebelle.
I know you feel bad about this Bluebelle as you’ve mentioned it before. Thank you for flowers and flowers to you both too. I should stick to the political threads, they don’t make me cry.
I really hope they don’t spin this out too much on Corrie. It’s just too close to home for a lot of us.

lemsip Wed 18-Sept-24 11:47:29

Bethany is going to have a strong storyline next! probably because in real life she is pregnant again..

fed up with illness in the soaps... Moira in Emmerdale has brain tumour.. it's all too much
