So Who Do You Look Like?

In my youth I was often likened to Sarah Ferguson, but with dark brown hair. I also had/have some of her personality traits - the good ones I'm sure. wink. When I look in the mirror I believe I can see the resemblance.

So who have you been likened to and do you agree?

Meryl Streep. My GS believed for years I starred in Mama Mia, I didn't contradict him! Doesn't think so now though.

I've been compared to a lot of people who all have big chins in common.
I suppose it'll be Bruce Forsyth one day.

MissAdventure Fri 26-Jun-20 17:40:15

Meryl Streep is one of my more flattering comparisons.

Back in the 60s I was told I looked like Amanda Barrie. Now not so much!

I actually saw her one day (in the sixties) on a trip to London and I don 't think we looked at all alike. She had huge eyes and looked very pretty. But some people obviously saw some kind of resemblance.

Well at the min I resemble tatty bogle the scarecrow

MissAdventure Fri 26-Jun-20 17:44:25

She was beautiful. smile
I remember her being rolled out of a carpet in 'carry on Cleo'.

Lulu when I was younger

DGS2 always insisted that the dancing pineapple in the Agadoo video was Nanna.....

So many of you have been told that you look/looked like some real stunners - that's wonderful. I do wish someone had once told me that I looked like Wonder Wonder. (So does my DH probably).

MissAdventure Fri 26-Jun-20 20:37:58

grin
I've got a foul one that somebody told me I looked like, and she was exceptionally good at it, as well as (brutally, in my case) honest.

With my hair being uncut and uncoloured for 4 months? Boris could be my doppelganger. angrysad

When I was younger, I was compared to Elkie Brooks by several people. The 'Pearls a Singer' woman.

Then 10 years ago, there a lot of people thought I looked and was funny like Miranda Hart. It happened so much, I got a bit bored with it. When a Chinese teacher at my Shanghai school said to me one day 'You remind me of someone.' I thought to myself, at least it won't be Miranda bloody Hart. But it was! In sodding China!

At school I've been compared to Miss Trunchbull and Susan Boyle by pupils.

Personally, I think I look like my granny. Who looked a lot like Nora Batty.

Chewbacca Fri 26-Jun-20 21:08:51

That's a wide range of doppelgangers Gagajo! And for what it's worth Kathy Staff, who played Nora Batty, was a very good looking woman. She lived not far from here and was always beautifully dressed and turned out.

Have never been told that I look like anyone, what a disappointment to me.?
Just look like a mixture of my parents I suppose, although am now older than they ever got to.
When in my twenties I was sometimes told that I looked ‘French’ which flummoxed me somewhat, coming from Yorkshire.?

lemongrove Fri 26-Jun-20 21:56:15

.....and no, I didn’t wear a beret at that age.?

GagaJo Fri 26-Jun-20 21:59:18

My granny was the droopy stockinged Nora Batty, not your glamorous neighbour, Chewbacca.

Starblaze Fri 26-Jun-20 22:04:05

Gillian Anderson... I don't see it though.

In my early 20s, Manfred Mann and Rolf Harris, whose autograph I had to forge, at a desperate mother's request, for a stroppy seven-year-old. More recently, Sean Connery; I'm working on the accent.

The Dulux dog; oh, pleeeeease let the hairdressers open soon.

Chewbacca Fri 26-Jun-20 22:09:09

Ah well Gagajo, at least you've got her sense of humour!

GagaJo Fri 26-Jun-20 23:05:37

I've even got a wizened little old man after me.

Nannytopsy Fri 26-Jun-20 23:12:34

I have developed my dad’s long, floppy silver hair since the hairdressers closed. He used Brylcreem to keep it in place!

harrigran Fri 26-Jun-20 23:50:39

Jabba the Hutt.

Evie64 Fri 26-Jun-20 23:52:39

I was always told I looked like Helen Shapiro, even her hairdresser said so. Now? Back end of bus I spose blush

Evie64 Fri 26-Jun-20 23:54:50

PS: Actually, with a mum who was blonde and blue eyed, and a dad who was dark and brown eyes, I look more like my dad but with hazel/green eyes (depends on the mood?) whereas my brother inherited the blonde and blue.
