Hancock having affair during lockdown unbelievable!

The Sun (apologies, but they got the scoop) has published a picture od Matt Hancock in a steamy embrace with a woman he sneaked into a job at DHSC last November, the story is that they have been carrying on an affair in the office since then. The hypocrisy of him calling for Neil Ferguson spelling amended by GNHQ at OP's request to be sacked for his lockdown breaking affair cannot be overestimated.

Amazing what people can gain from just one photo!
I understand that Hancock has known the woman since they were at Uni together and have been friends ever since. Does the fact that they have been seen hugging automatically mean they are obviously having an affair ? or does it mean that every one of the opposite sex that you have hugged in the last ten years must have been having an affair with you ?
The way she got her job could simply have been that as Hancock had known her for years, he thought that she would be great at the job or was it pure nepotism?
I would guess there are a lot of people doing jobs not just in politics that have got where they are purely because it was a case of "not what you know but who you know"

And exactly as Lillie says, his poor family.

Ilovecheese Fri 25-Jun-21 11:31:26

Do you always put your hand on a person's bottom when you hug them?

Lucca Fri 25-Jun-21 11:38:43

Jaylucy. Whilst this photo might just possibly not be the pair in question (I’m being generous). It isn’t just a couple of old mates hugging !

JaneJudge Fri 25-Jun-21 11:44:23

is jaylucy actually Matt Hancock? grin

What do you gain from that photo?

Apparently there is a rigorous appointment procedure so he could not have sneaked her in.

Apparently he did 'sneak her in', Avalon. The Times ran a story on it in November 2020. It's paywalled, but the Independent picked it up, too (have to register for 5 free articles p.m. to read it all)..

in September (2020), Ms Coladangelo was given a role as non-executive director at DHSC, earning at least £15,000 and placing her on the board that scrutinises the department. There was no public record of the appointment.

There should be a 'public record'

She was paid £15,000 p.a of public money.

This is the real 'scandal', the appointment of cronies with no competition, not the affair

Unfortunately for them, I doubt if the Sun would run such a story based on one photo - there will be more salacious details to follow.

Stupid pair.

And again we see another wronged wife having to face the photographers on her doorstep, putting on a brave face. No doubt she had to make arrangements for the children to be elsewhere and away from her.

Six children tangled-up in all this.

I think she accidentally fell against him and pushed him into the door and in the fright he accidentally gave her mouth to mouth whilst he secured her behind

Oh of course ! I thought there must be an innocent explanation
???

JaneJudge Fri 25-Jun-21 12:04:14

If she wasn't an old friend he'd have just left her for dead

I know I have said this on another thread but:

Frankly, my dears, I don't give a damn.

It is par for the course for both politicians and this government

Galaxy Fri 25-Jun-21 12:26:34

Oh come on Lucca, we all hug our mates like that surely. Frequently naked in my case as well, its standard behaviour.

Kate1949 Fri 25-Jun-21 12:26:35

It was hardly a hug!

B9exchange Fri 25-Jun-21 12:27:16

Thank you Baggs, apologies to Niall Ferguson, have asked GN HQ to correct it to Neil, not sure how long they will take.

That is exactly what this shower are hoping the voter is thinking.

So many politicians/people have affairs. Hancock has to go. He's been worse than useless and I would have thought everyone, no matter what their politics, would think the same.

This is the real 'scandal', the appointment of cronies with no competition, not the affair Excellent point, MaizieD, totally agree. But it will be the affair that the press run with.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 25-Jun-21 12:39:09

This government is the most depraved government I think we have ever had.

Apparently there is a rigorous appointment procedure so he could not have sneaked her in. Under pressure maybe she offered him comfort he was not getting at home who knows?
However, this is not appropriate behaviour if it takes place in the office interfering with work. It happens often enough though. Someone has obviously get it in for him to sneak out a photo to the Sun. This leaking and sneaking seems to be going on all the time these days.

Oh no, don't blame his wife. He's a bloody grown man and that isn't an acceptable excuse.

Where is the photographic evidence? Matt's got you beaten there I bet. grin

Where did he find the time???

That's more a case of hands face arse
Makes you wonder he must know about the security cameras

MerylStreep Fri 25-Jun-21 12:53:58

Apart from GN and media outlets nobody gives a stuff. It will all be forgotten in a few days.
The only part of the boring tale I’m concerned about is the job he gave her.
I was going to say the position he gave her. ?

MayBee70 Fri 25-Jun-21 12:57:16

Aren’t you concerned that it’s the government themselves that are most likely behind this leak?

varian Fri 25-Jun-21 12:57:34

The other day the Queen referred to Hancock as "poor man".

Perhaps she knew that his behaviour was about to be splashed all over the front page of the Sun and so many members of her family have been there for similar reasons.
