Good Boxing Day morning, Gransnetters. I thought as I am up I would start us off this morning. It is still dark in South Yorkshire and I am having an early cuppa amid the post Christmas Day chaos that is my home. GS and his folks are still here, and we are going up to York today to eat another Christmas dinner with our eldest and his family. I don’t think I can face food ever again! Have a happy day folks!

Hello everyone, I did no cooking yesterday. Our youngest ds and girlfriend asked us to dinner together with gf's parents. Our farm / free range turkey which is a regular gift is going into the freezer for a a few weeks and today I have a cooked lobster as there is just me and dh.

So little meat on it that I'm now quickly defrosting some tiger prawns. You can tell I'm not used to cooking lobster and I can see why it is so expensive in a restaurant. grin

After a lovely day with DD, her OH & DGSs I've had a quiet day, out to get papers this morning, I haven't moved out of the house since then.

Heavy rain last night then frost, by late morning it was pouring down again, plenty of food in fridge/freezer, quiet night in front of TV.

Hope weather picks up for the rest of the week, fed up of "soggy" Devon, it will get bettertchhmm

What a Christmas! As some of you may well know I have an adult daughter disabled and with learning difficulties and to add to it all is now nearly blind. Lives on her own with the support of the most wonderful carers. Anyway to cut a long story short her vast amount of medication and insulin that is delivered was delivered on Christmas Eve ...and she was out so it was taken away and a note put through the door at 4.35 pm. The carers rang the number provided but they were surprise surprise closed. So no medication over the Christmas period. After two attempts medication was found and provided but it had cost a vast amount, several hundred pounds as she had to take a taxi for one visit, then pay the full price for the medication as there was no prescription and to top it it all was not not able to go out for her. Hristmas Dinner and so lost the money she had paid . I have spent today driving to her place and trying to sort out what happened. On to
Of all this she had a fall and took the carer down with her! I am now sat at home glad the day is over with a glass in my hand. My first hristmas home for many years.
