Cummings game plan seems to be on course.

The tiny majority will be rendered a minority at a stroke by Cummings threat to take the whip away from any Tory rebels.

Johnson has then scapegoats to blame for his failure to deliver a brexit deal, and an excuse to go for a GE.

Labour will then fall in with the game plan by holding a VONC and a GE looks a distinct possibility sometime in Oct.
Johnson will fight it as the people v the elite who failed to deliver the democratic vote. (Bannon writ large)

The U.K. will then crash out on Nov 1st. No attempt is being made by Cummings to get a deal and in any case his contact finishes on Oct 31st.

Cummings is up against this:

Well, at least you are honest enough to recognise that we are being governed by an unelected bureaucrat, Ug

Tell me again about Leavers' objections to the EU being 'rule by unelected bureaucrats...'

Urmstongran Mon 02-Sep-19 11:49:22

Oh ladies, let’s keep it real eh?

Remember Alistair (Rottweiler) Campbell with Tony Blair?

It was ever thus.

MaizieD Mon 02-Sep-19 11:53:03

Ah, but I expect you didn't cheer Alistair Campbell on, Ug.

So you're perfectly happy with the EU's 'unelected bureaucrats, then? They had nothing to do with your reasons to vote Leave because 'it was ever thus'?

Whitewavemark2 Mon 02-Sep-19 11:54:18

Well ug tell us what is real. Describe Cummings strategy as you seem to think that we don’t appear to understand it.

Beware though, as 99% of commentators seem to agree with our analysis.

Urmstongran Mon 02-Sep-19 11:55:25

You’re wrong MaizieD. I voted for Blair at the time & cheered when he won. I thought Alistair Campbell was devious but clever.

Bit like Cummings really.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 02-Sep-19 11:56:53

Have you read Cummings blog ug? It will give you a good insight into his mind.

Urmstongran Mon 02-Sep-19 11:58:06

Describe Cummings strategy

I never said people didn’t understand it!

Did I?

He is ruthless. He’s seen the prevarication and is determined to help Boris achieve his endgame.

MaizieD Mon 02-Sep-19 12:08:23

What about the EU bureaucrats, Ug. Are they OK, too?

Labaik Mon 02-Sep-19 12:09:14

By 'his' endgame do you mean Johnson's or Cummings?

MaizieD Mon 02-Sep-19 12:11:05

I don't think Johnson has an 'endgame'. Labaik. If he's running true to form he's perfectly happy to sit back and let Cummings do the work.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 02-Sep-19 12:11:46

Cummings is running the entire show labaik

lemongrove Mon 02-Sep-19 12:20:55

Yes, Cummings is ruthless...as was Campbell and as is Seamus Milne.
There seems to be very little awareness on here about how much power all advisors to the PM or leader of the opposition have.

lemongrove Mon 02-Sep-19 12:21:55

T May’s two advisors almost lost her the last GE.

lemongrove Mon 02-Sep-19 12:23:54

Cummings has played ‘a blinder’ ...just have to see if it works out.

Fennel Mon 02-Sep-19 12:43:09

I also think that Blair is right. A general election now would give the Tories a big victory.
I think Johnson and Cummings are gambling on the fact that most people in the UK just want an end to all the uncertainty. Johnson is being built up as the Superman who will be able to do this as he fears nobody.
As for the consequences for the 'man in the street', who cares about them? We ( J and C) have financial security.

Labaik Mon 02-Sep-19 13:13:47

In what way did Campbells influence damage the social and economic structure of this country? Do you actually admire Cummings, lemon?

Whitewavemark2 Mon 02-Sep-19 18:04:44

The podium exercise outside number 10 is all about trying to steal the rebel MPs thunder. The news would have been full of the legislation to be passed etc. Instead we have Johnson taking the ,limelight.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 02-Sep-19 18:13:02

Well.

Bit pointless. I wonder if he couldn’t get cabinet agreement?

He sounded very rattled I thought

Urmstongran Mon 02-Sep-19 18:13:27

Well played then Boris! Smart manoeuvring!

Whitewavemark2 Mon 02-Sep-19 18:14:31

Why?

varian Mon 02-Sep-19 18:15:23

Utterly pointless repitition of his previous lies and nonsense.

Even for liar Boris it was distinctly unimpressive.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 02-Sep-19 18:18:56

So he isn’t calling a GE (today) but the temptation for Corbyn may still be a VONC if he thinks he can win. But I think that would still be trap.

lemongrove Mon 02-Sep-19 18:20:23

Because he has just informed the nation on prime time tv that some MP’s are jeopardising getting a deal by trying to get the government to reject a no deal exit, and are siding with the opposition.
Many voters don’t take much interest in politics, but they couldn’t miss that statement on tv it will be replayed all night long.
Rebel MP’s will be vilified by many for considering doing this.

EnglishRose Mon 02-Sep-19 18:22:59

WW2 could you kindly explain what is ‘amoral’ about Cummings and Johnson doing their level best to uphold and complete the result of the ‘one and only’ Referendum?

Bridgeit Mon 02-Sep-19 18:23:05

Only a fool fears nobody ..... just saying
