Where do you get your t shirts and tops from

Where do yo u buy your t shirts and blouses from? I used to get mine from Marks and Spencer but I don’t like the colours or the shapes of them this year. I like cotton ones and plain colours, fat covering(!) I’ve checked the websites of landsend, J Lewis’s Boden seasalt, I usually wear t shirts with a pair of cropped cargo type trousers in summer and with jeans or cargo trousers in the rest of the time. I quite like M and Ss linen shirt style blouses. I bought a v neck t shirt from m and s in a slubbed kind of material and it was far too big and baggy round the neck so I’m taking it back tomorrow and I’ll have a look if there’s anything I like. Im trying to think of anywhere else I can look for t shirts and blouses - I fancy a short sleeved plain fronted one.

Boden, White Company or Joules, slightly more expensive but well worth it.

Good luck! I also used to buy T shirts in M&S but I have not done so for a few years. The last time I went they were too short and had violent colours.

I bought some nice tops in Bonmarche but not for a few years because quality has deteriorated and I do not want patterns on the front.

I did buy a beautiful anorak there earlier this year but when I returned to buy one in another colour- all gone.

Cotton traders or Damart

Last summer I bought lots of M&S t shirts at £4.50 each. They were called relaxed fit.

I dont think they have them this year - why?

I'm so glad you posted this. I recently did a 'big shop' in M & S in preparation for my hols, I couldn't wait to get home for a try-on session - but what a disappointment. The T shirts are the most peculiar shape. Tight across the shoulders, loose around the neck but hugely wide around the middle - and short (and i'm only 5ft)!

Until I read this I thought perhaps it was me that was a peculiar shape. Needless to say the majority of my purchases have been returned.

I buy my T-shirt’s from Baukjen. They are loose fitting and boxy with half sleeves. Bit pricy but they have sales quite often.

Beammeupscottie Tue 30-Apr-19 17:07:52

Next, Cotton Traders, Lands End, all good for me.

I remember when I still had the sort of job that required me to be "suited & booted" when visiting clients, have the devil's own job trying to find "smart" t shirts to wear under suit jackets.

I didn't think I was asking for the moon, just a round neck, sleeves to around the elbow, reasonable length in the body.

Could I find any? Could I buffalo! (That's the polite version, btw)

Joules Seasalt Fatface

I get most of mine from next and some longer length ones from "yours" . Great over leggings around house and garden.

Shirleyw Tue 30-Apr-19 17:34:11

Lately Seasalt and white stuff

Great suggestions - I’m going on a shopping hunt??
Keep them coming. One I’ve remembered - nice but v dear - is Poetry fashions - they do sales, though.

I buy all my t shirts from Olsen. Great quality reasonable price and last forever.

joannapiano Tue 30-Apr-19 17:55:56

Bon Marche, usually on line. They fit well and really wash and keep their shape well. Good prices, too.

Mamissimo Tue 30-Apr-19 17:58:05

Joules for me - love the fact that they don’t loose their shape. There’s also Kettlewell Colours - kettlewellcolurs.co.uk - who do every classic and modern shape u dear the sun and a huge range of colours. They’re T shirt specialists - and they do scarves etc to match. ?

I’ve shopped in M and S for years as I am a petite size and found their sizing/styles quite good, however I have just bought 7 casual but good looking tops from Sainsbury’s. They fit me well and love each one. Can’t wait to get the weather to wear them. smile

Marks, H&M, Primark, Poetry and Zara.

Treebee Tue 30-Apr-19 19:41:22

Agree with Mamissimo about Kettlewell. Their tops are beautiful and there’s a wide range of styles and colours. It helps if you know your season, but some colours suit everyone.

Feelingmyage55 Tue 30-Apr-19 20:55:15

John Lewis own brand. Expensive but last well.

giulia Tue 30-Apr-19 21:12:28

Kettlewell - absolutely! Not only for the vast colour range but you can choose sleeve length: half, three quarter or full length and also many neckline shapes. The lengths are good too, normally 60cm but also 68cm. Their products are made from Turkish cotton or Austrian viscose and made up in Portugal.

seacliff Tue 30-Apr-19 22:20:01

Wow, the Kettlewell clothes are expensive. £29 for a short sleeved t shirt!
