I'm starting this new thread as apparently our other one was over a year old!! shock

We'll have to do more gossiping to prevent this happening again.

Here's a link to the old one.

No, Nfk all quiet on the Aldridge front currently.

Might be something to do with the "7 characters per episode" rule! grin

NfkDumpling Fri 03-May-19 18:34:07

What’s happened to Jennifer and Brian? Have I missed something?

phoenix Fri 03-May-19 17:42:28

I'm finding it very hard to think of Freddy as a loveable anything!

Might help if he stopped whining................

AyjayF Fri 03-May-19 17:04:22

That bailiff could be pretty busy in Ambridge.
Lily. Natasha. Kenton. They're just the obvious ones. ?

Culag Fri 03-May-19 08:45:14

I think Freddy and co are going to find something valuable up in the attic and save everyone.

LullyDully Fri 03-May-19 08:08:06

What a good idea. Why doesn't he pay for the rent arrears?

If the writers have any sense Freddy could become a lovable retro Nigel. We need some humour, especially now Joe has gone.

Oh yes grin

...or the roof, GracesGran!

GracesGranMK3 Thu 02-May-19 20:29:44

I think Susan is very authentic. I know mothers who will talk up their child at every opportunity and she does it so well, never missing an opportunity.

The Archers had always had a nicely nuanced balance of serious and comic. Tonight's episode carried the Pargiter's further along the road to repairing their lives but I still can't guess what they will do with Russ. I suppose there's always the attic. smile

Susan! This thing about Christyfurr and "management"!

It's the village cricket team, for heavens sake, not exactly being on the board of ICI!

shock

GracesGranMK3 Tue 30-Apr-19 20:17:34

So have I phoenix. Shame isn't it.

phoenix Tue 30-Apr-19 19:57:39

Oh dear, feeling of deja vu on this thread,............

LullyDully Tue 30-Apr-19 19:47:43

Jazzer in a tea shop? Maybe not.

Sara65 Tue 30-Apr-19 14:32:25

Tom may very well have a long wait!

starbird Tue 30-Apr-19 14:21:44

I think Natasha thinks Tom will inherit the farm, and she will be rich ( by selling off land?) , so she just has to get him where she wants him first - panting at her heels. Babies won’t come into it - if she can hang on long enough she thinks she will get a good settlement!

Sara65 Tue 30-Apr-19 14:15:10

Well I’m aware of that Gracie! But doesn’t mean I have to like his character, or like the way Elizabeth constantly excuses his behaviour

GracesGranMK3 Tue 30-Apr-19 13:39:14

He's a character Sara65, and he is being used to play out some of the issues in society. Would you have them all completely bland?

Lazigirl Tue 30-Apr-19 09:17:27

I don't think Nocasha will be off the scene for long, it's part of her strategy to control Tom. Jazza is my favourite character, I love him. I agree GG, characterisation of Freddie is spot on, a typical young man with a sense of entitlement.

Sara65 Tue 30-Apr-19 08:50:18

Freddie is awful! I do wish Elizabeth would stop spoiling him! He’s a drug dealer for goodness sake!

GracesGranMK3 Tue 30-Apr-19 08:38:35

"I agree with most of you above. Couldn't they contrive to bring back Nigel, his son is a poor shadow of his father, with a soppy voice?" (LullyDully Sat 27-Apr-19 18:05:13)

I think the character of Freddie is well played as a young man of his background just as Nigel's was in his day. Nigel was very irritating in the early years and "grew into himself" only when he became responsible for running Lower Loxley and married Elizabeth.

Nanoo15 Tue 30-Apr-19 08:26:55

Do you think Tom will keep the pigs and Jezza get his job back now Natasha off the scene?

Sara65 Sat 27-Apr-19 18:51:54

You’re right, things were never dull with Nigel around, I can think of quite a few people I’d have preferred them to kill off!

1inamillion Sat 27-Apr-19 18:39:55

I think Lily is fed up with him anyway and she's spreading her wings with this job. He is more Elizabeth's age, Nigel will be turning in his grave.
Why oh why did they get rid of Nigel though. So many rich storylines connected to him and what a voice. All that sacrificed for a sensational script.TA has plummeted since then grin

Sara65 Sat 27-Apr-19 18:20:20

He is! He’s been a rock for poor Elizabeth!
