Is anybody else watching this? I am three episodes in and finding it very difficult to understand the several story lines and identify the characters and their relevance to past events.

There is already a thread about this, Jane
Have a look!

Thank you Marydoll. I did look but obviously not carefully enough!

BlueBelle Tue 22-Oct-19 21:01:03

I can’t find it either Jane43 and I can’t follow it at all I ve talked to my daughter and three friends and none of them are understanding it either so we re not alone

Marelli Tue 22-Oct-19 21:19:05

I've had to give up on it - couldn't figure it out at all.

tanith Tue 22-Oct-19 22:00:06

I know don’t have a clue what’s going on ?

tanith Tue 22-Oct-19 22:02:57

Sorry I meant to post on the other thread ?

We are watching it and by discussing it as we go along we think we have got the storyline. It is very complicated. We have the subtitles on as the sound sometimes goes very low.

newnanny Tue 22-Oct-19 22:32:28

We are one episode behind but have it taped. It does jump about a bit but we are just about following it. It probably does not help that we are watching it very late in evening so a bit tired. I shall get my caffeine hit before watching next episode.

newnanny Tue 22-Oct-19 22:33:10

I see that there is a new drama starting called The Accident so I will give that a go too.

BlueBelle Tue 22-Oct-19 23:01:10

Looking forward to that one newnanny I ve given up on Dublin murders

We have been watching thus too. Still confused about some things but others are clearer.

Nortsat46 Wed 23-Oct-19 08:18:29

I think I am just about following it ... but there are quite a lot of plot twists.
I will watch to the end of the series.
My rating so far is 7/10 (or maybe 6.5/10).

The other thread is in the AIBU section and the subject heading is about swearing so it is difficult to find. For that reason I will put my response in this thread. I understand they have combined two books to make this drama and I think that was a mistake as there are too many story lines to follow and the continual jump to past and present adds to the confusion. After episode 4 I am finding the Lexie/Cassie story completely unfathomable at the moment. I will give it one more episode, there are eight in total.

Oh I’m so glad to hear all these comments I thought it was just me/us. I keep saying to my husband “what’s going on?” He just shrugs his shoulders. The acting is very good and the storyline about the disappearance of the children and killing of the girl has caught my imagination and I’d like to know the conclusion. The case involving the female detective and Lexi is really confusing me.confused I’ll do my best to keep watching in the hope that everything ties in at the end of the series.

TerriBull Wed 23-Oct-19 19:28:05

Glad to know we are ALL confused then! I'm still finding it quite compelling, I expect we'll all get to the bottom of it eventually, if not, maybe we should convene here to see if we can collectively fathom it all out confused In the meantime I'll keep watching.

Jane43 Wed 23-Oct-19 19:38:26

Agreed, it is undoubtedly a high quality drama with a good cast but very confusing. I also find the fashion for men to have beards makes some of the characters look alike. Yes Terribull I think we should put forward ideas after the next episode.

Smileless2012 Wed 23-Oct-19 20:02:02

Ah well that explains a lot Jane43; I read the book sometime ago and wondered why I was getting confusedhmm.

Sharing ideas after the next episode is a good idea TerriBull.

We love Dublin murders. What we don’t understand we put down “to it will be revealed in due course”

It seems to me that quite a number of modern dramas have several threads at the same time and can be quite difficult to follow. It usually becomes clearer towards the end (if I can be bothered to watch).

I suspect it’s supposed to give a more realistic feel but doesn’t make for easy watching.

Jane43 Tue 29-Oct-19 12:54:16

Any thoughts on last night’s episode? I’m still confused about the Cassie/Lexie connection and how it will be explained. I didn’t like the fantasy flashbacks, I suppose they were to show how badly his early experiences as Adam have affected Rob. I thought he was going to find something significant behind the flashing light when he smashed it but there didn’t appear to be. I will stick with it but it is very challenging not to mention confusing.

chaffinch Tue 29-Oct-19 13:00:08

I keep watching, but don’t really know what’s going on. Can’t say I enjoy it, but will stick with it to the bitter end.

ninathenana Tue 29-Oct-19 14:24:49

chaffinch likewise

I'm hoping it will all become clear at the end.

Calendargirl Wed 30-Oct-19 07:30:50

Watched again last night. All rather creepy really. Lexie strolling about in the dark, meeting up with her police stake out chap. Was she not worried that her housemates would have followed and seen her? And Rob/Adam at the end, was he having a heart attack or what? Looks like he’s in next week’s episode judging from the trailer. Every single character seems weird really.

travelsafar Wed 30-Oct-19 07:47:40

I gave up on this drama, to many threads to tie up and i just couldn't be bothered as i was not really interested to be honest.
