Just saw yesterday that there’s a new series, and, with the exception of the cricket commentator and the actress from Coronation Street, I had heard of them all!
Britt Ekland should have stayed away from the plastic surgeons, but they seem quite interesting.

Britt is far too full of herself for my liking. When talking to Duncan she patronisingly said he should get an award, ‘the lowest one’. He quietly replied that if she meant the OBE he already had one which was very effective in putting her in her place. The excessive eye makeup is very ageing IMO, subtle makeup would be much kinder.

I thought the lowest was the BEM then MBE. I'm sure Britt isn't in the running for any award. Duncan's done his bit for business and also for charity. It'll be interesting to watch him trying to evade her clutches!

I think he'll have his work cut out Jane10! grin

Haven’t taken to nasty nick and Britt got on my nerves from the get go. Has to be the centre of attraction. I noticed she stopped clinging to Duncan eventually and wonder if he told her she was barking up the wrong tree. How not to grow old gracefully! Barbara not a showy type at all just being herself as are Sue and Zandra, love her joie de vivre style. I would love to read their minds re Britt’s performance. The OBE quip was so good.

He went on about how devoted he was to his new 39 year old wife who he can't bear to be parted from for one say. (So devoted that he happily set off for a month to India?) I think that particular speech was for Britt to overhear.

Kalu Sat 16-May-20 17:51:53

I think Britt may have selective hearing Jane?. If she doesn’t behave it wouldn’t surprise me if Duncan’s wife turned up to have a wee word in her ear!

Love this programme! Brit is totally off her rocker.
Barbara is lovely and naturally beautiful.
Zandra is wacky.
Cricket guy is eccentric and I love him.
Duncan is ‘up himself’.
Comedian, not very funny.
Great TV though!

Brit is so self-obsessed - really not an attractive character at all.

Having listened to Henry’s beautiful voice in his cricket commentaries quite a few times in car the with DH, I was interested to learn about the terrible accident that cut short his cricket career. It sounded very serious with lots of operations and plastic surgery. He seems such a genuine, mild mannered gentleman.

DH has joined me watching this series as we're in lockdown and he missed most of the others. He's a huge cricket fan so as soon as he heard Blowers was in it that made it.And what a lovely man he seems to be.What a voice!

It’s episode 3 on Thursday. It’s my programme of the week. I love it!

Barbara Dickson and Zandra Rhodes are my favourite ladies. Britt is highly confident and showy but I do like her smile and she can be self-depreciating which is quite charming.

Susie is a bit boring for me. She’s like ‘wallpaper’. The kind of person I don’t like to end up sitting next to at a gathering, especially whilst hearing a shriek of laughter from across the room or garden ! Something upset her about the age of 40y which is why she took up Buddhist chanting every morning she said, to calm and focus herself.

Loved how fussy blowers was re a particular shade of yellow/mango fir one of his shirts. I shed a tear when I saw how much he was revered in India by the cricket lovers.

The “relationship” between Britt and Duncan is hilarious And I agree that deep down he is terrified!

Barbara Dickson seems happy to chill around the lovely villa. I wonder when she will have an adventure?

I am looking forward to the next episode.

Was it my imagination, or did Stanley Johnson (father of Boris) appear in the first episode? If he did, he must have escaped - he didn't seem to be either enjoying or appreciating the experience - or been ejected.

annodomini Wed 20-May-20 10:31:44

Just checked the cast list and can't find Stanley, so it's possible I was having a nightmare!

annodomini Wed 20-May-20 10:40:45

I must have switched on when they showed a clip of a previous series which did feature Stanley. How I wish I could edit or delete posts that show that I'm a nutcase!

Calendargirl Wed 20-May-20 10:43:11

No you’re not AD

It’s so easy to be confused when they show trailers for past, present and future series!

felice Wed 20-May-20 11:32:51

You are not AD, when I first saw the trailers for this series I wondered why he appeared to be in it again.

DanniRae Wed 20-May-20 14:11:09

Really looking forward to the next episode - I have to record it and watch it the next morning because Mr R doesn't want to watch it (he will still be in bed when I watch it).
I hope Barbara livens herself up a bit by then!
I too love listening to Blowers talking and Britt flirting with a clearly not interested Duncan.

Marilla Wed 20-May-20 15:46:37

The last series did feature Stanley Johnson. He was very similar to Blowers. He had a great love for life and embraced participating in everything India had to offer.
Of course he and Blowers come from a very privileged background, but who can blame them for living life to the full. Their enthusiasm for the world around them is quite infectious.

Jane10 Thu 21-May-20 22:14:46

I wish Britt would belt up. I'm so suck of her and her attention seeking behaviour.

Jane10 Thu 21-May-20 22:15:12

That's sick of!!

merlotgran Thu 21-May-20 22:32:43

Britt has to make everything about her doesn't she?

Chewbacca Thu 21-May-20 22:38:49

My idea of hell would be getting stuck on holiday with someone like Britt; she'd drive me insane with her constant need to be seen and heard at all times. I like Sue; she's so delighted with everything she's seeing and seems so open to new experiences. Barbara doesn't seem to have got into her stride yet though.

seacliff Thu 21-May-20 22:42:54

I am loving this programme, nice bit of escapism. Zandra seems a lovely genuine person. Sad that she had to leave early. I liked Susie too.

Not mad on Duncan and Britt. She goes on about "her work" but she's a bit sad. She doesn't seem interested in anybody or anything else, apart from rich old Duncan.

The driving test was hilarious, the Chuckle brother was brave to drive in those conditions. Poor man, what a terrible leg he has, and has had to put up with it all his adult life.

gillybob Thu 21-May-20 22:53:56

Almost word for word what seacliff just said . Britt Eckland still thinking she is the “Bond Girl” and that “arm candy” expression to Duncan B (who has a wife young enough to be his daughter),

What attracted you to the multi millionaire Mr Duncan Bannatyne?

Sorry that Zandra had to leave early and loving Blowers .
